For the 11th installation in our VSA Radio series, aspiring producer and all-time sweetheart Johannes Astrup lays down his interpretation of the Copenhagen techno scene with a fast and crunchy mix, straight for you listening pleasure. :) 

'I love how the focus in electronic music is always on the scene as a whole, and not so much on individual artists or tracks. A techno track comes alive when it is mixed in with other tunes in DJ-set. This naturally builds a strong community since every producing artist depends on the other DJs of the scene to play their music and vice versa. Having a background in rock music, this was a refreshing change when I started moving into electronic music.

I often picture techno music as a flowing stream of sound that has no beginning or end. It’s even playing when nobody is listening. In this sense, the art of being a producer or DJ is to take something out of this stream, play around with it and then put it back into the flow as
your contribution to the sound.

I have these thoughts in my head when putting sets together. It is 
 somewhat challenging during a lockdown, but the sounds and grooves keep giving me inspiration even without a dance floor. Many of the tracks in this mix were released during the pandemic, but still the music sounds as alive as ever before. Thank you for listening.'

Tras varios años forjando su gusto y comprando vinilos desde 2004, el productor Wlack muestra su valía como disc jockey, dándose cuenta de que su gusto musical va más allá de lo que puede conseguir en su tienda de música habitual.

Influenciado por los sonidos más duros del Techno y por artistas nacionales e internacionales, en la actualidad comienza a crear sus propias producciones, forjando un sonido muy underground con el cual siempre se ha identificado, lejos de lo comercial, siempre enfocado a la parte más minimalista del techno.

Después de lanzamientos en MFM Records, 44R, Tulz Records, regresa a Subsist Records después de colaborar con una pista en el primer volumen de la Compilación Varios Artistas "World Pressure". 

"Hall The Time" es un trabajo de diez pistas en las cuales el sonido de Wlack llega a desbordarse en techno duro preciso. Club Furies presenta el estreno de 'Nineties Line', la séptima pista de este trabajo.
