XX LAB is an electronic music label founded in 2021 by François X. 
Based in Paris, the label acts as a research platform for independent minded artists whose musical aesthetic is oriented towards avant-garde electronic music.

CRUDE Premiere: Elise Massoni - Silk [XX LAB]

The debut album of Istanbul born, Berlin & Copenhagen based artist Nene H (real name Beste Aydin) titled ‘Ali علي’. In this record Aydin has used her background as a classically trained pianist and her deep, foundational knowledge of musical theory to synergise contrasting electronic compositions and the mental process of mourning the death of a loved one.

Born as a tribute after the passing of her late father, Aydin has found catharsis through a personal odyssey, the reflection of which can be seen through these 8 tracks. Raised in a traditional Turkish family and now living in Germany with its westernized lifestyle, informs the intersections of identity and duality that Aydin exists and creates from within. This consolidation of identity has pushed her to seek solitude and confidence in the power of being able to represent the process of her existence in the scene as a Middle Eastern woman with Muslim upbringing.

A person who thinks all the time, has nothing to think about except thoughts.  So.. he loses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusions.

By thoughts I mean specifically, chatter in the skull.
Perpetual and compulsive repetition of words, of reckoning and calculating.

I'm not saying that thinking is bad. Like everything else, it's useful in moderation.. a good servant, but a bad master

And all civilized peoples, have increasingly become crazy and self destructive.. because through excessive thinking, they have lost touch with reality.  Thats to say.. we confuse signs, with the real world.

This is the beginning of meditation

Most of us would have.. rather money than tangible wealth,
and a great occasion is somehow spoiled for us unless photographed,
and to read about it the next day in the newspaper is oddly more fun for us than the original event.  

This is a disaster.. for as a result of confusing the real world of nature with mere signs, we are destroying nature.  We are so tied up in our minds that we've lost our senses. 

Time to wake up. 

What is reality? Obviously.. no one can say, because it isn't words. It isn't material, that's just an idea.

Reality is..

The point cannot be explained in words

I'm not trying to put you down.  It's an expression of you as you are.
One must live.  We need to survive to go on... we must go on.

After amassing a discography crammed with ravey goodness, left-field producer @throttleclark turns on a dime to deliver 'Kiri Variations', a long-player bearing more similarity to baroque chamber music than anything compiled for a dance floor.

Phutureprimitive teams up with An-Ten-Nae on a unique approach to collaboration. The duo wrote ‘Altered Frequencies’ together but each will release their own edit. The Phutureprimitive edit releases October 11, following by the An-Ten-Nae edit on October 25. The ‘Altered Frequencies Tour’ features both artists and can be seen across the US in November through January.

“Everything in Life is Vibration” Albert Einstein. Frequency is the rate at which that vibration is happening. Altered Frequencies is about playing with the meta-level perspective that we can alter our frequencies (choices, thoughts, meaning we assign things, actions) to create different outcomes. It’s about exploring how much responsibility we can take for our own vibrations and the resulting outcomes they influence and manifest. The title also relates to the collaborative creative process of both artists starting writing one song together, but branching out to finalize two seperate edits. You could see this as us starting with the same source frequency, and the result will be two different altered frequencies, filtered through their individual psyches, and pouring from the speakers.

‘Altered Frequencies (Phutureprimitive Edit)’ seeks to tell a story which begins at night, in a ceremonial context. Beginning with the sound of crickets and an Oud (a short-necked string instrument predominantly heard in West Asia and North African Music) playing a melody hinting at a journey about to unfold. The song & journey continues and explores the feeling of being catapulted out of the familiar and into the void, into the collective consciousness, out of your mind and into your senses, beyond space and time.
