I'm looking forward to your review on the album I played on. If you tell me Triumph of the Will was better, I'm going to have to disagree with you. It could have been better, but with Ron talking shit about my guitar sound, and making me use a straight Marshall, instead of the Laney, it came out like shit.

John Joe Gurule was pronounced "Jerlay" He is also John Joseph on Our War.

I started recording the piece at 4.25 in the morning, hence the title. And what I was trying to do was interact with the space through my voice and listening -- a kind of unheard intervention in the roar of the city, which even at this time of the morning is quite loud. I was working to blend my vocalizations with the environment, blurring the boundaries of what was being "performed" by me and what was being happening in the environment. An interaction which had perhaps more to do with listening as much with me making any sounds in reaction to the environment.
