Meat Puppets opened for Black Flag April 13, 1984 in New Haven, CT. They were not well received. Spitting as non-verbal communication was a thing at that show, and by the time they ended their set they were covered in gob. I felt bad for them, but also don't recall thinking I had to check out their record.

MOJACK

I started recording the piece at 4.25 in the morning, hence the title. And what I was trying to do was interact with the space through my voice and listening -- a kind of unheard intervention in the roar of the city, which even at this time of the morning is quite loud. I was working to blend my vocalizations with the environment, blurring the boundaries of what was being "performed" by me and what was being happening in the environment. An interaction which had perhaps more to do with listening as much with me making any sounds in reaction to the environment.
