On his 2019 album, “The Jaybird Said,” Mokai offers the listener a vision and feeling to be appreciated over and over. His third full-length release features songs that demonstrate his considerable songwriting chops and his unique fingerpicking style.
The album is produced by well-known Bay Area guitarist, James Nash (Waybacks), who Guitar Player called one of "50 Transcendent Acoustic Guitarists." Besides engineering and producing, Nash adds lead work on acoustic and electric guitar, slide and mandolin.
The first single, “Mama’s Got the Blues,” features Nash on electric guitar and Julie Wolf (Indigo Girls, Ani Di Franco) on piano and Hammond B3. "I wanted to write something to honor single mothers who face so many challenges in our country today," says Mokai. "Each line in the song is an image from the life of a mother I know."
After spending his youth as an environmental activist, Mokai came down from his tree and began writing unforgettable folk songs that find their way into your heart. 
Three decades later, Mokai has taken root in the Northern California music community, as a performer at numerous venues, and a participant and instructor at music festivals. 
Based in San Francisco, Mokai (rhymes with woke-eye) creates and performs songs that inspire and move people to care. 
In the song, “Stone on Stone,” the jaybird says: “We each have a piece of the puzzle.” This album is Mokai’s piece, offering a kind of storytelling that leaves audiences thinking, talking, wondering and entertained. 

Mokai has performed at venues large and small, including festival stages, benefits, protests, intimate listening rooms and house concerts. He's being honored this year for 15 years of performances in shelters and hospitals for Bread and Roses Presents. He is an expert at traditional guitar styles and teaches the guitar workshop each year at the Strawberry Music Festival, one of the longest-running folk music festivals. 
His original guitar style echoes his life-long love affair with the playing of pre-war era bluesmen and early 60s-era Greenwich Village folk. His moods are reminiscent of classic songwriters like John Prine and Townes Van Zandt.
His studio recordings include performances by a roster of Bay Area talent, including Todd Sickafoose (Ani Di Franco), Jon Evans (Tori Amos), Matt Eakle (David Grisman) and Philip Brezina (Brothers Comatose).

DJ Kincaid fell in love with house music as a teenager at his first underground warehouse party in SF in 1992, and was immediately inspired! In 1996 he purchased a pair of Technics turntables with his saved up cash, and it was on from there. In house music and disco he discovered a huge love and passion for djing, and has been at it ever since. Kincaid's styles and vinyl collection ranges anywhere from reggae/dancehall, classic hip-hop, to disco, funk, and house music. Kincaid’s affiliations: About The Music, Groovin' In The Park, and Culture parties produce a some amazing parties including: park parties, night-clubs, undergrounds, boat parties on the SF Bay, community festivals (including The Annual Oaktoberfest stage in Oakland), and many other popular gatherings in Oakland and The SF Bay Area.. And, have been going strong since 1999. These popular events feature special guest dj’s from around the globe, dance, culture, art, and amazing crowds which continue to spread the music, vibe, and love today. Kincaid also shares his music at many venues out of state, and abroad, including being a special featured dj on Boiler Room. In his 20+ years of spinning records. Kincaid has worked alongside some of the most talented dj's and producers in the business. Always close to the music, he’s worked for the classic Tweekin Records in SF, and artist-relations for Om Records in SF. Kincaid proudly holds a bachelors of science degree in sound arts, and has many years experience working in the sound engineering field, which has landed him many gigs with artists such as: Carlos Santana, Bonnie Raitt, KD Lang, and George Clinton, to name a few. The love & passion for the music keeps him going. Kincaid is passionate about playing music, and is happily doing what he loves most!

Travisty started spinning 27 years ago at raves in New York City and the New England area. Over that time, he has held multiple residencies playing at intimate lounges, top venues nationwide, and major festivals along the East Coast. 



Travisty’s sound is influenced by labels such as Dirty Bird, This Ain’t Bristol, Night Bass, Black Book Records, and Box of Cats. His unique ability to mix multiple genres (breaks, house, bass, funk) keeps his high energy sound fresh and adaptable to any crowd, ensuring an always packed dance floor. 



Burning Man has played an integral part of Travisty’s career. As the founder of the sound camp Trifucta, his music has graced the stages of Funkytown, Pink Mammoth, and Slut Garden, in addition to his annual legendary sunrise sets at Bubbles & Bass.
