Being born and raised in Ronse, East-Flanders, Shockz (30) grew up listening to music oftenly played by his mother, such as, Fat's Domino, Ray Charles, Louis Armstrong,...
These influences brought him to HipHop, his first true love.
Once he started going out, around the year 2000,  other genres caught his attention, such as, Drum and Bass, Techno and House.

At the age of 25, after collecting music since his youth, he started making his own little mixes.
But Shockz soon felt that wasn't satisfying enough... He wanted to create his own sounds, beats and melodies.

Without any musical education, he took his first little steps on an Akai Mpc 5000, before stepping over to a combination of soft (Reason) -and hardware.
Mainly making HipHop, he produced tracks for several Belgian HipHop artists; Pita (ABN), De Broertjes, Mocro Black, Boeze,...

But after making his first real House track, many others followed.

His love for Electronic music grew each day and only got bigger and bigger after each finished track.
His remix of the Weekend (Where you belong) was even played on a Belgian radiostation (Topradio). He felt he had to take his music to the next level.

Some of his favorite artists are; Tchami, Pep & Rash, Ben Pearce, Flume, Solomun, Dom Dolla,...

At the moment Shockz started a new project called "Shock a Spectrum", a collab' with Aspectrum (Arnaud Soetens) a singer/songwriter from his hometown Ronse.

After being asked how people should define his music, Shockz just said: " I don't want to be pigeonholed, I try to be a musical centepede."
