While you wait for your coffee water to come to a boil, you reach deep into the fridge and grab breakfast you can microwave, you rummage through your closet for an outfit you won't mind wearing all day—'cause it's gonna be a long day. You light your first cigarette, put on some music. And soon enough you hear the kettle whistling, as the beats drop in and out with steadfast rhythm, you heave your chest for one last puff, for now: everything's gonna be okay.
