This label began originally as Swahili Entertainment Records back in the late 90’s in the small neighborhood in Nairobi, Kenya called Zimmerman and later on was established as an indie label in Central Florida. As a result of the prior’s conversion to a Foundation, 44 Records was born. On the other hand Swahili Entertainment Foundation is to help unify the region’s entertainment industry under one roof.

In a nutshell the brains behind the original Swahili Entertainment Records are also the ones behind this label, hence bringing over 15 years of music management experience to this organization.

44 Records now based in Nairobi, Kenya is set up to produce up and coming acts from the East Africa region and give them the same level of exposure that Swahili Entertainment Records had given prior to its folding.
