Newsha Khalaj is the artistic director of CCME, the Copenhagen Contemporary Music Ensemble. Recording artists she has collaborated with include Björk, Radiohead, Brian Eno, Max Richter, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Arcade Fire's Richard Reed Parry, and others. She has worked on film scores for Jonny Greenwood, Mica Levi, and Bobby Krlic. Fashion houses whom she has collaborated with are Dior, Alexander McQueen, Burberry and CHANEL.

Newsha has played at venues including the Elbphilarmonie, Disney Hall, Philharmonie de Paris, Harpa Concert Hall, National Sawdust, the Barbican, MASS MoCA, and WWW X. Live performances have been broadcast on BBC Proms, BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 6, CBC, Korean Broadcasting, and Nadia Sirota's Living Music Series. 

A graduate of The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, she studied with David Takeno. She has attended such festivals as IMS Prussia Cove, Ravinia, Music@Menlo, and Verbier. Classical collaborations include the Kronos, Hagen, Tokyo, Emerson, and Juilliard string quartets, the PhilIp Glass Chamber Players, and performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, l'Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and Berlin Philharmoniker.

Crunchy Frog was founded as a Copenhagen indie label by the four members of THAU back in 1994. Even though the label is no longer an underground operation, and despite the fact that nowadays Crunchy Frog has moved out of the flat that used to be the HQ, the philosophy and ambition is still the same: to release quality music in the area of alternative pop and rock under the conditions of full creative control for the bands. And since we started out as musicians, we know how much that counts. The important thing isn't always the bottom line and the $$$, but that we are able to maintain our position as the most interesting indie-label around! And not just around our native country of Denmark: Crunchy Frog is the best record label in the Universe! Ever!!
