The Sound of Modesty is a project started by singer-songwriter Yvonne Han, whose music, a blend of alternative rock and japanese rock influences, has been described as "all at once mesmerising and thought-provoking". - Reform The Funk (2020)

Having studied Music Production at Leeds Conservatoire,  it was there Yvonne met her band mates and longtime producer ‘Rayn’, and bandmates Devon Rampere, Oscar Brewer and Ned Forster.

Together they've toured across the UK, having played at Liverpool Sound City, been interviewed by Reform The Funk, featured on Apple Music's Creative London Studios 2021 lineup, being regularly featured on Reprezent Radio as guest hosts, and most recently supported tricot on their 2023 UK Tour. 

In 2022 they released their debut album 'Cognitive Dissonance', a concept album touching on the struggles that can come from familial love and inter-generational trauma, having a sold out album release show with the singles 'Mother's Love', 'Warm Floors/Cold Bodies' and 'In The Night Time' standing out as favourites. 

Currently the band are working on their next record, which is said to be a step in a bolder direction for their sound, starting with the first single "safe in your arms", a track inspired by the loneliness of a first long distance relationship.
