thinking of her

Maybe I had to be that guy
so I could be THIS guy
The guy I am now
From the excesses, came the wisdom

That guy became the Me
who is faithful to his woman for decades
who will never stray again
in no small part because
I have seen it and done it
and have no curiosity or desire for it

I confess
she did not deserve that, to pay for my growth
and I admit
she was always so much better than me -Confession from That Guy.
