Hardt Antoine delivers one of his most anticipated records to date with “Free” - a soaring melodic house anthem crafted for peak-time euphoria. The single lands on Antoine’s own label, Reculture, marking another milestone in its catalog of forward-thinking electronic music.

Opening with a direct vocal message of liberation, “Free” builds into an uplifting melodic journey, rising on crisp snares and a powerful bassline before dropping into a euphoric electro-tinged climax.

Hardt Antoine - Free

Colombia native Giorgio Phoenix returns to Bonzai Progressive with the impressive Times EP. We first got a glimpse of this guy back at the start of 2016 with his debut Hypnagogia which proved quite popular indeed. While a mysterious character his superb talents are evident and we're delighted to see him back once again.

Good Times brings a wonderful retro themed progressive slice for our listening pleasure. The intro boasts a classic chunky kick and percussion combi which breaks fleetingly to bring in that deep grooving bassline that hypnotizes the mind with its pulsing rhythm. Fantastic retro synth chord stabs are front and centre for this one, captivating and mesmerizing as they're filtered and modulated into superb patterns. Excellent stuff once again from Giorgio, not to be missed.

Dark Times goes deep right from the off as a nice punchy kick drum and crispy hi hat lead the way alongside a deep rumbling bassline that lurks menacingly on the low end. The bass slowly fades up becoming more prominent to dominate the deep progressive groove. Darker elements ease into the groove creating a great depth in the sound while on the break a dark synth line begins its journey to the abyss. Top notch, deep and dark, one for the late night floors here.

A work 12 months in the making, Adam Beyer continues his exciting series of collaborative EPs, teaming up with heavy-hitters Pig&Dan for an multi-faceted four-tracker.

Chances are up if you spied Adam Beyer in an airport departure lounge over the past 12 months, he’d have his head buried in his laptop, immersed in creating sound sketches. A long-time fan of collaborations, the Drumcode chief has been on an inspiring streak of form lately, teaming up with the likes of Mark Reeve, Dense & Pika and now Pig&Dan. The results have been compelling, to say the least. 

In trademark perfectionist Beyer style, the title track ‘Capsule’ – a shimmering slice of techno - involved “around 15 different versions” the track rigorously road tested by the Swede and featured in episodes of Drumcode Radio to test dancefloor reactions, before finally getting the sign off.  ‘In Love’ is a big room techno groover, driven by crisp drums and the kind of evocative vocal effect that’ll have hairs standing on ends. ‘Atmosfear’ is true to its name, centered on a menacing synth line and gritty percussion, its deep kicks and subterranean bass combining superbly to create a heady dancefloor brew. ‘We Are E’ is propelled by a catchy synth hook and a classic call-to-arms vocal, which tips its cap to the artists’ shared love of classic UK rave.

Sigha’s lauded Metabolism album is further commended with a remix EP for Token 77. With three highly qualified label newcomers enlisted to the task of reimagining aspects of the album, the music is reworked into a new context to powerful effect. 
 
Wata Igarashi’s flourishing recognition as a producer with striking competence and flair has marked him as a valuable affiliate on the record. He demonstrates different areas of focus with two new versions of Black Massing. The Daylight Breaks Remix opens up the high-end, expressing the delicate harmonics of the original with rushing upward arpeggios. The Dusk Falls Remix instead hones in on the deep and anticipatory nature of its foundation. 
 
Marco Shuttle’s foreboding Morning Star remix feels skilfully subtractive, magnifying elements by adding space and drawing focus to its melodic asides. Function plays with the contemplative nature of Down in his version, adding dynamic percussion and energy while retaining its expression and depth.
