Both musical cosmonauts met in the rain at Fusion Festival behind Extravaganza stage. Since 16 years both are attending the mother of festivals, either as visitors or performing artists. They chatted about life, music and passion and started vibing - a few hours later they journey in a flow B2B at PalpaBar - blending together their favorite music, Pablo jamming live on his toolkit of drums and Seth Schwarz melting into the sound with his electric violin. A beautiful Fusion story, the beginning of a friendship and a true journey for the books.

Anjunadeep is an independent record label based in London. Having begun life as an outlet for the deeper and more progressive end of trance trio Above & Beyond's DJ sets, the label has now grown into one of the dance music world’s most respected imprints for deep, melodic house music.

Readers of Deep House London will be no strangers to the prolific output of Anjunadeep, as in the last year alone we have showcased releases and artists like Clarian, Matthias Vogt, and Eli & Fur (whose "California Love" EP featured on our best of November 2015 list), to much acclaim. Aside from those aformentioned, Anjunadeep has also provided a platform for the diverse range of artists such as Yotto, Tom Middleton, Way Out West, Martin Roth, Vincenzo, Lancelot, 16 Bit Loltias, Moon Boots, and Ryan Davis, with the likes of Dusky, Vincenzo, Lane 8 and Michael Cassette, releasing full length albums on the platform.

Dedicated to deep and emotive electronic music, Anjunadeep holds a unique position in the modern dance music world, championing music heard on the huge stages of Coachella and EDC, Nocturnal Wonderland, to Oasis Festival to the intimate dancefloors of Europe and everywhere in between. Over its 10 years and 250 releases, the sound of the label has evolved, but while the BPMs may have slowed, the mission statement of Anjunadeep has remained the same - to release timeless soulful and melodic electronic music.

With that, we continue our new series here, and in conjunction with Deep House Amsterdam, highlighting some of our favourite labels from around the world, we thought we would catch up with label co-founder (and compiler of the annual, and highly successful, Anjunadeep compilation series) James Grant and get the scoop on all things Anjunadeep. Here, you will find information on the label’s history, ethos, releases and future. As you can probably tell by know, we are asking each respective label owner the same questions. With this approach, we hope these showcases will be as educational and informative (for all you aspiring label heads out there) as they are entertaining.

Es sind diese Momente, in denen man loslassen kann und sich für einen Augenblick lang gemeinsam in den Armen liegt, weil sich die Herzen so weit öffnen, dass man garnicht anders kann, als zu lieben und sich seinen innersten Bedürfnissen hinzugeben. Getrieben von der Musik, die uns in diesem Moment über alles hinweg eint und gemeinsam nebeneinander und miteinander tanzen lässt. Leben und leben lassen! Angesichts unserer gesellschaftlichen Entwicklung, wo waschechte Faschisten es offensichtlich wieder schaffen, sich als stabile Kraft zu etablieren und einen Bürgerkonsens voller Hass, Gewalt und Verachtung hinter sich vereinen, der mich so erschüttert, dass ich es manchmal garnicht richtig glauben kann...angesichts dessen bin ich froh über jeden Menschen, der es schafft, seine Arme zu öffnen und das Schöne zuzulassen. Von diesem Gefühl bitte so viel mitnehmen, wie geht. Die Welt braucht es.

Berlin Club Culture is facing the biggest challenge in its history. On Friday, the 13th of March, all of Berlin´s nightlife was officially shut down to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Since then, about 9000 employees, as well as tens of thousands of artists have been without work and wages, and the existence of many of the places that give Berlin its identity is threatened.

As a reaction to the closing of all Berlin clubs and to the rest of the world being in quarantine, Berlin is showing its support and solidarity by bringing the biggest possible digital club to your home.

Kraken Kramer is a Melbourne born producer living in Victoria, Australia. Playful yet introspective, his melodic style reflects his love of EDM, improvised and instrumental music stemming from his deliberation on dance traditions.

In the recent year he has released many tracks. His forward thinking approach has led to a deep uplifting style which evokes a wide range of emotions in the listener which reflects the highs and lows of his own life experiences.

Kraken Kramer’s music is known for uplifting and melodic chord progressions and tonality in his tracks punches that sweet spot. He is versatile enough to not only be played at clubs and festivals, but also in moments of relaxation. 

Yet to release on any major label, he’s unsigned and independent.
