Public Releases hits the lab for some aural alchemy and to turn out its first release of 2017. A four-tracker from Moscow’s Phil Gerus, 
The title’s a fitting one; every track feels like a vignette in a collection of short stories. Separately, they’re self-contained, but a rich narrative arch is added when they’re sewn together. If there is a theme here, it’s of viewing the future through the dusty lens of the past, and each of the songs explores this in its own fashion. 
The kick-off, “Ohashi Sky Garden,” starts as a hyped-up Italo space epic, pumped full of swirling synth licks and sharp, tight drums, but it mutates into something completely its own when vocal samples and warm keys enter. After the original’s brisk five minutes, we premiere here a remix by the legendary Richard Sen, breaks guy, house guy, disco guy, half-of-Padded-Cell guy, stepping in to give it a trancey tinge while doubling its runtime and adding a dancefloor-destroying Hi-NRG coloration.  Already out !

The union of Argentina and Serbia based producers have come up for 'Persian' EP - two striking and saturated tracks, something we deeply felt while the first listening.
Duo of Brigado Crew and Crisstiano has recently released enough goodies via Diynamic, Suara, Jeudi, so 'Persian' with its mantra vocals throughout effective and melodic smoothness of the synths and their envelope is the sound we like and push.
We got 'Voznja' as the 2nd track on release done together with Space Motion (Timeless Moment, Glasgow Underground), inspirational and deep thing perfectly fitting the overall mood of the release.

Paul Angelo & Don Argento have achieved remarkable success over the last calendar year. The Cyprus based duo have found their way into the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and with recent releases on Movement Recordings and Soundteller Records the future looks bright. Now making their much anticipated Sound Avenue debut the duo present one of their best productions to date in ‘Durendal’. Dark, chugging grooves have become a hallmark for Paul and Don and they’ve carved out another beauty here. Bursting with ultrasonic qualities and rugged character it sets the perfect foundation for a variety of trippy motifs to work their magic. It’s ominous narrative builds which each successive loop, perfectly setting up a masterful break, where just the right splash of emotion delivers a magical drop and exhilarating finale.

PREMIERE: Paul Angelo & Don Argento - Durendal (Original Mix) [Sound Avenue]

John Johnson’s ICONYC imprint continues its strong summer schedule by welcoming GuyRo to the label for his debut EP. The Spanish based artist has continued his borderless production approach this year, most notably with a well received remix for label affiliate Hydrogen in June. Now embarking on the biggest release of his career GuyRo steps up to ICONYC for his debut EP entitled ‘Avalon‘. 

Beginning with the aptly named ‘Dubstruck’, you’re met with dubbed out soundscapes, tasteful arps and a heavy late night groove. It’s free flowing modular storyboard is a delight for the mind, transitioning the piece into a dramatic, sensory rich break, before launching into a hypnotic yet highly emotive conclusion.

The companion piece ‘The Deeper Mind’ sits as a perfect complement with its similar sonic profile. Spanning eleven minutes it’s a vocal narrative which initially burrows deep into your subconscious, perfectly setting up a wobbly, hook heavy arp. Buzzing swells add moments of tension throughout the first act, before eventually melting down into a thought provoking break. Clocking in at two minutes the expansive centrepiece is rich in character, as the vocal, arp and sweeping synths unite for moments of profound psychedelia. 

Perhaps primarily thought of as a progressive house producer this two track artist showcase makes it abundantly clear that something very special is taking place in GuyRo’s studio, one where genre and stylistic blueprints are lifted for an all encompassing aural experience.

Exclusive Cornucopia 'Forever Gone'

Mysterious project Cornucopia releases its sophomore EP, 'Forever Gone' on Canada based label microCastle. The EP's title track, a 11:34 minute voyage into the depth of organically sounding spheres, shines through its consciousness of combing transcendental soundscapes with nature and therefore perfectly fits the label's musical philosophy. After an almost three minute build-up of diverse spherical elements 'Forever Gone' then introduces the congas, which in combination with the aforementioned spherical soundscapes form the body of the track. But just as you expect to be carried to the end of the track 'Forever Gone' closes in for the final chapter as the bass line sets in.

Cornucopia's EP 'Forever Gone' will be released on July 27th, 2018 on microCastle.

These are the tracks that defined our Burning Man – a wider palette of sounds than you may have heard from us in the past. We wanted to offer a platform to a variety of promising newcomers.
