In striving for our aspirations, we may be held back by damage to our self-trust in the past due to not following through on commitments. This can happen even to a highly skilled practitioner. Someone like that, a long-time MAPLE resident, asked Soryu what to do about it. His answer revealed that while such mistakes have serious consequences—perhaps more than we know—there is a simple principle for restoring integrity.
