Accelerating at a speed of 160 to 170 beats per minute, Nectax explores the nodal points between Drum & Bass, Jungle, and Footwork, injecting into his craft his acclaimed technical skill and clinical precision of production.

Credited by DJMag as one of the Newcastle scene’s frontrunners, the uncompromisingly forward-thinking producer and STEREO 45 co-founder has gained worthy support from legendary-status producers and burgeoning superstars alike; from 160 jungle stalwarts such as Sully to pioneers of the scene like LTJ Bukem.

With forthcoming releases on the revered Over/Shadow label, and others yet to be unveiled, the 25-year-old producer-DJ continues to push the future-focused ethos of junglism to its limits, drawing inspiration from both the centre and periphery zones of electronic music.

This mix is a timestamp of his mind frame currently; his ease of mixing together everything in the 160bpm realm and his love for a variety of styles is clearly audible, the rhythms typically might be different but there are a lot of other musical overlaps between Footwork & Jungle.

｢Ammut Remixes｣ breathes new life into the Seoul-based collective Raw Hearts’ first single ｢Ammut｣. Ten artists from around the world—B E N N, Entrañas, mana, LOBOTOME, 7ip7o3, Mazefromfar, Mon Amour, Tabris, YAWNISH, Yetsuby—reinterpret the track from their own perspectives, resulting in an album that fluidly crosses the boundaries of genres such as Latin core, experimental club, dubstep, and drum and bass.
By inviting artists active in different global scenes to deconstruct and reconstruct ｢Ammut｣, the track transforms and expands like a living network. This project encourages a practice of not passively consuming music but of reimagining, remaking, and sharing it together. It also maps out the global underground connections to which Raw Hearts aspires.

｢Ammut Remixes｣는 Raw Hearts의 첫 번째 싱글 ｢Ammut｣에 새로운 숨결을 불어넣는다. 전 세계에서 모인 10명의 아티스트—B E N N, Entrañas, mana, LOBOTOME, 7ip7o3, Mazefromfar, Mon Amour, Tabris, YAWNISH, Yetsuby—가 각자의 시선을 통해 곡을 재해석하며 완성한 이번 앨범은 라틴 코어, 익스페리멘털 클럽, 덥스텝, 드럼 앤 베이스 등 장르의 경계를 유연하게 넘나든다.
서로 다른 글로벌 신(Scene)에서 활동하는 아티스트들을 초대해 Ammut을 다시 해체하고 재구성하게 함으로써, 곡은 살아 있는 네트워크처럼 변주되고 확장한다. 이는 음악을 수동적으로 소비하지 않고, 새롭게 상상하고 다시 만들며 함께 나누는 실천을 보여주는 프로젝트이자, Raw Hearts가 지향하는 글로벌 언더그라운드 연결의 지도를 그려내는 작업이다.

Derek Makes Traxx - Rise

A jungle track crafted using some irish elements that feature throughout the track. From euphoric pads to convey atmosphere and depth to the main melody hook made from an irish harp plugin that haunts the track atmosphere further.
Sampled cuts exist in the track too, from the bodhran, a irish single drum instrument, sampled flute from the lonesome boatman, an old exceptional traditional irish song.
And sampled vocals from Sinead O'Connor.

The track plays over several jungle loops, from its opening, main and the middle of the track, it features different styles to give variety to the track that comes off well and unexpected.

I hope you enjoy it as I enjoyed producing it.
