Even if you’re unfamiliar with the name Suproducer Beatz, you’ve assuredly heard the man’s work if you’ve listened to Kai T, Tony Bone, 1Da Twinz, and Weedman Jah this year. Yet before he became a production powerhouse instrumental to the careers of some of today’s biggest underground rappers, the artist born Kendric Johnson had modest beginnings in Lithonia, Georgia.


I started making beats with friends my freshman year of high school,” Suproducer says via phone, explaining that prior to that point in time he’d primarily considered himself a rapper. ”That turned into my job.”

Though still harboring microphone ambitions, the budding music producer subsequently partnered with friend and then rapper Bo Solo to make music. Before long, Suproducer Beatz decided to no longer rap, but continue to concentrate his energy on perfecting his skills to become a better producer/engineer.
