To claim folkloric authenticity in the age of the googlynet is pure flummery. That's why Shtedoidish makes up their own stuff. They are hoping that future archeologists will find their recordings and proclaim their songs as evidence that 21st century humans did something besides watch YouTube videos of cats... they also watch videos of goats getting their head stuck jars!

That being noted, Shtedoidish (pronounced shhteh-doy-dish, means You Will Come! in Bulgarian) is a tight knit trio of accordion, upright bass, and tremolo-y electric guitar. The sentiment of their set ranges from hyperactive to melancholic and combines stylings of klezmer and balkan music to create a new sound with roots in the old world.
