I've been really bad at posting my mixes in the 23 years I've been playing but with a recent change of location I am making it a point to share the music that I Love. I find a lot of the vocals within the various tracks speak so much to what I'm feeling as I lean into this uncomfortable but much needed transition.

The Unknown

My daytime set from Bloom Festival 2023. Just as the rainclouds parted to make way for sunshine and blue sky, this set moves from deeper melodic global sounds to funky soulful beats, with some groovy detours along the way. 

It was an honour to be a part of this beautiful homegrown festival, a radiant celebration of music, art and heart. Can’t wait for next year! 🌺 🌸 🌹 💐 Enjoy!

DJ Astroboy - Bloom Festival 2023

My bed In Black Rock City last year was practically on the DISTRIKT dance floor, so I was awakened by many of the opening sets, that are unjustly less attended than the closing sets, at dawn. The awakenings were always pleasant and often made me feel energized, and wishing for stronger playa WIFI so that I could shazam from my pillow what was being played. The opening sets defined DISTRIKT for me in 2016, and if my taste is any indication, some of those openers will eventually be playing the closing sets. I am so grateful for the entire DISTRIKT team for once again giving me the amazing Thursday sunset slot, and I hope that you enjoy listening and dancing and reminiscing to this one!

We’re very happy to start-off this week with a phenomenal sip. And this one definitely stands out of the crowd – today’s cocktail goes by the name „Velvet Cowboy“

This delicious treat is brought to you by TÂCHES, or Alex Christopherson, by his real name. An artist beyond mainstream, conquering the electronic world with his very unique and honest approach.

Originally British, Alex grew up on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, Spain. He left to Great Britain for college, but got back shortly, to focus on music, the real assignment in his life. Recently, Alex decided to pitch his tent in a mountainous canyon close to Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, California. He finally found the place on earth that sets free the energy required to keep him and his projects growing.

His music does not follow any trends – it conjures the energy of a latin, jazz and disco influenced, romantic house music, that reminds the owner of this channel of times he got into house music, a couple of decades ago. 
But there is also this modern touch to TÂCHES’ music. Dreamy, experimental, blending different world sounds to a magically touching mood. You can feel that the music reflects his experiences, his feelings, at this very moment.

In 2017, Alex launched his own imprint “Glitter Cowboy”, a “home for unusual and melodic music, that pushes the boundaries of the zeitgeist”. “Group Love”, TÂCHES' second EP and third release this year, has just been released on Glitter Cowboy. And a bit further back he welcomed Hypsidia & Altriparty with their stunning “The River” EP, including a remix by TÂCHES.

TÂCHES likes to knock up his Velvet Cowboy post sunset. If you do not want to wait another couple of hours: no worries, I can assure you, it perfectly goes down by daylight as well!

He reigned as a founding resident DJ at Asylum Afterhours, which was ranked as #50 in DJMag's top 100 clubs in the world, as well as #3 of the top 5 most amazing intimate clubs in the world. He's played at highly recognized electronic music festivals and events such as BPM, The Love Festival,  Alchemeyez, Burning Man, and many others along side some of the brightest talent the electronic music scene has to offer. 
The distinct sound that Moniker embodies instantly takes you on a journey, persuades you into the depths of the unknown, and enlightens you in a language that can only be translated through music. Graceful, yet unpredictable. Beautiful, yet on the edge of some carnal desire. There is a tangibly dark essence about it, as though he is picking up the undertones of everything that surrounds him. It sounds like a different breed of music, a new species, and as though it originates from the underworld of his mind.
When Moniker gets on the decks, he instantly allures you into his strange world-- as moths are drawn to the light, the night owls are drawn to his music. His sets create a vivid warping of the mind, and an intense intellectual trip through space and time. If you listen carefully it will consume you, yet also allow you the freedom to escape.
