For this very unique event, the featured artists will collaborate in tribute to the extraordinary career of vibraphonist Roy Ayers and his influence and contributions to contemporary urban music.

To bridge the gap, The Robert Glasper Experiment featuring Chris Dave on Drums, Derrick Hodge on Bass & Casey Benjamin on Alto/Vocoder will perform sequences between Roy Ayers selections transition them into Pete Rock productions that were created from his musical influence. The live reinterpretations and interpolations of both works serve as the conduit to understanding the harmonic relationship between the past and present.

A track I did for the homie Jose James. I just sent him an extend loop and he layed vocals with Jordana de Lovely and turned it into something special. It also got picked up for the soundtrack for "Our Family Wedding". This was a cool collab and is just the first of many w Jose. He has joint on my Early Riser LP and I'm writing a new tune for his next record.
