Gharonda explores the lives of Sudip (Amol Palekar) and Chaya (Zarina Wahab) who belong to the middle class in Bombay and work in the same office. Chaya is sharing a 1 room flat with her younger brother, her older brother and sister-in law. Sudip has rented a room with 2 other men. Sudip and Chaya plan to get married as soon as they have a house made for themselves. In this process, they save every penny to build a corpus for buying a house. They go house hunting looking for an abode which will suit their budgets. After finally investing in a flat in one building, they are all excited about their future. After a few months, the builder who is a fraud, absconds with their money. Sudip's room mate (played by Sadhu Mehar), who has also invested in the building, commits suicide. The building project is abandoned and all the money of investors goes down the drain. The couple is shocked and does not know how to react. They just cannot imagine having to start once again from scratch.

Circa 1984 and we saw the release of the Mithun Chakraborty starrer 'Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki' and along came a smasher of a soundtrack by Bappi Lahiri. Every song was a gem and set trends for the oncoming future. Salma Agha not only acted in the film but sang the songs too!
Here's Dance Dance in the voice of Salma. The original was already pace-y & jive-y disco, so here's a midtempo, disco-chill redux of the song... Absolute style!

I've always enjoyed experimenting with forgotten Bollywood songs and bringing them back in the airplay by blending them with something in current circulation!
Original Song composed by Viju Shah for Gupt(1997), sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. The music was quite futuristic for that time from a Bollywood perspective. However, the melody is an outright take on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.
The second song is from a movie called Sanam Re (2016), originally composed by Mithoon and originally sung by Arijit Singh.
I have used Tulsi Kumar's rendition of the same and retained the main sound of the Gupt Song!
