This is the fourth episode of my new music series created and designed deliberately with the intention of sharing selected cosmic sounds, as the ocean of energetic vibration and to have a shared experience that strengthens our human interconnectedness through music oscillations.

This is my latest set for Solar Conexion, Koh Phangan (TH) on the beautiful and dazzling jungle's hill of Retro Mountain Club. Tapping into people's emotion through my selection of soulful Melodic House, Indie Dance and Techno tracks, it was a pleasure to see everyone dancing  through the night on this beautiful island I call home.

Happy to share my latest set for Retro Mountain and Ivy Event, Season Finale was truly a memorable event with 10 DJs playing one hour of their own signature style music through the night and dancers from all around the world celebrating the turning wheel of the year, the ending of one season and the beginning of a new one.

This is my early morning live set for Solar Conexion, Koh Phangan, Thailand. A gift for my dear friend's birthday Dava Di Toma, a memorable night spent together harmoniously dancing and while sharing much love with one other. So happy to upload this collection and to have shared the decks with 15 of the most notorious DJs of the island playing throughout the night and morning and for such a special occasion.

This is my live set for our Unconditional party at Samsara, beautifully tucked away in one of the sacred jungle valleys of our beloved island and with sheltered shores, the venue was the perfect location to explore the vibrant energy of our community by mixing talented musicians with visual artists in a combined effort to create once more magical memories. 

On this night it was a pleasure to play along side Ryan Murgatroyd, a true student of the music craft.

Story behind my set:
Pollution & Religious Harmony 

My set starts with haunting sounds of the deep sea as if to say that the sea world is complaining about the way we humans have polluted their homes. You can hear cries of help & anger from the whales…

As the set moves on to the second half, I talk about my upbringing… My father, Jalaluddin Ferozali Shroff was a Muslim (Ismaili), and My Mother, Bharati a Hindu (Konkani, Brahmin). We (Shama (My sis) & me) were brought up to be good human beings first, live in harmony, respect one another and spread love. We would celebrate Diwali, Christmas and Ramzan with the same enthusiasm and excitement as the other. Welcomed everyone to our home without discrimination. Never asked anyone, what religion are you? 

Sadly, times have changed and so have people.. This is my humble attempt to show people that we can all live together and respect each other as humans and not differentiate by religion. And so my set contains verses of Hindu & Islamic cultures. This set will touch your heart and might make you slightly emotional but I hope it brings a smile to your face. 

Music has no boundaries. Music Unites us!

We are half way through 2020 and boy what a year this has been so far! Lucky for all of us, music has been our saviour in these dark times. As we kick off the second half of the year, we invited a special guest to take over Distant Grooves. 

Sri Rama Murthy aka Murthovic is a name that’s synonymous with talent, experience, experimentation and excellence in the Indian Dance Music scene. In his musical journey of almost 20 years, Murthovic has been pushing the envelope as an independent electronic music composer, sound designer and a DJ. As a music producer and DJ, Murthovic is known to use a very unique hybrid organic / digital process to record and perform his music. His sets are often a dark, melodic, story telling sessions which leave the dance floor mesmerised each time. 

This month’s Distant Grooves Guest Mix is another stellar journey curated by Murthovic especially for our listeners. Featuring Tracks & Remixes from Musumeci, Re:You, Santiago Garcia, Roman Flüegel, Esteble & many more.

- Visions meeting realities in tune with Universal laws, Mono &The Ocean is an Italian DJ and producer based in Koh Phangan (TH) and London (UK), working solely on the bases of purely underground sounds and the design of new sonic journeys. Blending emotional melodies with punchy and impactful kicks, M&TO will be releasing his first EP, Monogram - DUB Edit and Monogram - Extended Edit, in February 2024 on a well know Record Label.
