Wolves have captured humanity’s ima- gination for years and young German producer Monoboi is no exception. Over twelve expansive and diverse tracks, he continually summons the symbology of the lone animal, taking listeners on a musical journey that re- sembles a long night wandering under a full moon.

The element of overcoming fear is at the heart of these compositions. It is such a powerful emotion with so many faces, every one of which Monoboi is willing to embrace, finding therapeutic ways to turn daunting situations into something up lifting, with triumphant melodies emerging from the darkness.

Part of what makes ‘Year Of The Wolf’ such an enthralling listen is constantly changing moods and diver- sity of tracks. Sometimes he utilizes fast paced beats that are guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing, while other times he settles into a laid back trip hop sound, full of mellow vibes. It is almost impossible to predict what the next track will bring.

While Monoboi is the brains of the operation, he is not the only musician to appear on the record. A small handful of friends lend their vocal talents, giving these tracks a genuinely human feel. Sometimes melodic and other times influenced by golden era hip hop, this added dimension adds pop sensibility to Monoboi’s production and opens up whole new worlds of possibilities.

Every track on ‘Year Of The Wolf’ is teeming with life and perso- nality. It is an impressive opening statement from an artist who still has his entire career in front of him.

German electronic music artist Monoboi combines his gift for haunting melodies with self made music videos to create meaningful productions full of dark atmospheres and hidden meanings.  Having spent his whole life as a multi-instrumentalist, he learned guitar, piano, and drums before switching to electronic music where he could embrace the expansive sounds in his mind.  Like a lone wolf, he travels from genre to genre, making sounds that are as adventurous as they are introspective.  His unique and dynamic tracks are sure to appeal to music aficionados around the world.
