Written and recorded ourselves in the back room of our drummers house. This album is a culmination of ideas that have circled within the band for a couple of years now. Inspired by bands like Algernon Cadwallader, Macseal, Sweet Pill, and many others, this is our take on the midwest emo genre. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it. The band consists of Joerg Grote (vocals, guitar), Igor Zimic (bass, backing vocals), and Stjepan Vukušić (drums), all experienced musicians in their 30s and 40s. With a sound influenced by the grunge and alternative rock scenes of the late 90s and early 2000s, monocene brings a fresh perspective to the genre with their introspective lyrics and dynamic musical compositions.
