Label's words :" Ópalo's first EP on Caracteres is a mix of electronica, ambient and downtempo. It reflects the emotions and feelings you get when the sun is coming down, and you can see the orange and indigo colors in the sky. Pat Carroll is a Eora / Sydney based alt-electronic artist and multi-instrumentalist that explores deep connectivity between artist and audience spanning cinematic and textural ambience through to more upbeat techno and alt-electronic leaning offerings 

His debut Album, ‘Is Yours, Is Mine’, revolves around a single simple melody. 

"This is something I’m really interested in in music – how parts and themes can be painted in different colours to give them new emotional qualities. What I wanted to do here was to have a melody that the record keeps finding its way back to, but have this melody altered, transformed and presented in different ways. At the start of the record, it is dark and haunting, and by the end it is more cathartic and open."

CV & JAB - Pottery Fragments

Odd Rotation is a different and site-specific presentation from Tan Cologne, centered in instrumental and ambient sound. At the end of summer 2022, the duo composed soundscapes of field recordings, live instrumentation, and organic sounds on site at Pescetrullo, an architectural art installation, in Puglia, Italy. With percussive recordings made inside a cement pool, rocks stacking, thunder, glass bottles, and insect behaviors, sounds were pieced together to form a sonic imprint of the multidimensional layers. The name Odd Rotation echos the behavior on site at Pescetrullo, examining motions of modern humans in ancient worlds, new art forms, and the natural living world.
