After the adventurous 'Nemiera Gars' Ep, released last year, https://soundcloud.com/skdsc returns on Monolith Records proposing a live recording of his opening Deejay set at 'Sturmkonzert 9' in Riga, as the 38th chapter of the Monolith Podcast Series. SKD is also one of the main engines in the local industrial community centered around https://soundcloud.com/sturmlv label and events.

Sturmkonzert is an event series born from 'Sturm', which is a genuine Latvian industrial music label founded in 2000, releasing works by local artists and hosting gatherings with live performances by local and foreign acts, hailing the industrial subculture and underground electronica. 
Being rooted in the early 90's club nights, Sturm was founded in 1995 by Reno Krauklis, as an event series proposing a mix of throbbing atmospheres with the output of local noise acts and industrial DJs, often involving porn and shock performances to maximize the impact. Such strong character influenced the whole Latvian scene, inspiring an array of new artists to work in the fields of industrial and related music.  Sturm shaped the character of the Latvian industrial scene, also bringing new extremes to the Baltic region.

Monolith Podcast #38 SKD

Latvian producer, DJ and promoter, operating mainly in areas of post-industrial, technoid and experimental electronic music. A music activist for nearly 20 years, he's been hosting both concert and club-oriented events, performing and releasing music solo and in collaborations, and providing explorative DJ sets, showcasing the facets and diversities of his taste. An engine in the Latvian electronic music community and STURM label, he runs Construct / Destruct series among other events, and since 2010 hosts the radio show Absolūtais Minors on Radio NABA (Latvian Radio 6), dedicated to the history and current sounds of the Latvian electronic underground.

“When did the future switch from being a promise to being a threat?”

 Things are running so fast, to nowhere. It looks like mankind has realised that any effort to find a reason to justify its own existence is actually useless.
At the end we finally gave up, seeing ourself as monsters rather than the amazing creatures designed to rule the universe.
Our evolution, that we can definitely assume to be an involutionary process, turned the human kind being into a condition where the race probably got to the maximum of the biological possibilities. What will come next? Is it possible that the next step will involve creatures whose basic capacities so radically exceed those of present humans as to be no longer unambiguously human by our current standards?
Probably those entities will be able to "become" or embody different identities and understand the world from multiple, heterogeneous perspectives reaching the “post human condition” while seeking to maintain intellectual rigor and a dedication to objective observations.
Mankind’s hunger for keeping the evolution of techniques and tools vivid and alive brought our kind to struggle to feed itself of artificialism, spoiling biodiversity and setting itself as a black hole which swallows everything. The act of digesting creates nothing but toxicity that keeps on spoiling our planet and the life forms which populate it.
Since mankind started ruling the world, this process never stopped. Even when the balance was found, mankind kept growing, expanding and evolving, reaching a condition which is distant to the natural feelings of our race.
Hypothetically, we’re trying to ascend to an higher plane of existence in order to have a better control of the Earth and its happenings, despite the harsh fact that life has became harder for most of the animated beings which populate it, even for humans themselves.
As humans are conscious entities, surviving isn't enough, as our needs push us to make the most of our own psycho/physic resources in order to shape our own vision of things on a satisfactory base. This allows us to feel in peace and harmony with our surrounding world.
Besides the fact that more and more people all over the world have to struggle in order to ensure their own existence, a constantly decreasing number of people are able to focus on the happiness, having no direction to follow. The balance which ruled existence got lost and probably the time for a radical change for our little corner of the universe is getting closer and closer. A natural flux of renewed energy will come to set up a new order and renew the existence cycle over our planet.
“The end was contained in the beginning”, all we can do at this point is just to wait for the advent of the new cycle, wait for the advent of the MONOLITH to set the new order.
