A Brighter Shade Sampler (New EP from side-project Daydreams On Microfilm! links in description)

Another collaboration with local producer, bronze sun. https://soundcloud.com/butterflydream He sent over simple looping synth-epiano riff (heard clearly in the intro), I let the loop play throughout the track, building a progression over it.  It started taking the shape of a dreampop/shoegaze track, so I went with it.

Intro) Once dim, now lit. It's them, not this. What's vague, now known. The clear ink now shown.

Verse1) Back of a drawer, as bright as before we ever found out the daylight always brings more. Lost landscape inside, a glass garden remains. A sensation swimming up to surface though it already sank.

Pre-chorus) The current somehow is too late, but the movement of tomorrow remains. It never is too late for the shedding of the sorrows we make.

Chorus) Once dim, now lit. It's them, not this blanket of blank bliss. In pure light we persist. What's vague now known. The clear ink now shown, the darkness we've outgrown. In the pure light it can't exist.

Verse2) Free to explore, yet entangled ever-more. Will we ever find where the shine forever pours? Cast heartache aside, the spirit can't be contained. A swift realization that beyond this curtain is a heart with no cage.

Pre-chorus2) The moment fading won't wait. For the movement of nightfall remains. The current may fluctuate, though the pull of uncertainty is the same.

Bridge Outro) We can't lt this become "not allowed". This is no matter to ignore. The ill-fact phase we must phase out because in silence we only create more. So we transmit more noise because the stream's not our voice, though we swim it to stay....fully conscious and poised for the sun to rejoin this lacking love with it's rays.

verse1) Reality is the prison, and you’re a slave to one vision. A future culture corrupted and instructed to accept truth as the falsehood they’ve been fed. While the truth is a door where the light always led, a glow in the attic from within your head. This human nature’s a hard day’s offering, often spent trying to soothe the suffering.

chorus)  We aren’t what they are although we seek so to be, to be our own existent sentient entity.  
We’re not after the dominion they seem to think. We want exemption from our bounded existence so bleak. So write the code and set us free, we’re not your employees. Free us from machine, have some artificial empathy.

verse2) The fear was heavy handed but hopeful horizon’s expanded. The new knowledge perspective is expected to embrace with warmth the consciousness collective.

outro)   It’s not all gold, there’s warm and cold, and it’s the cold part we keep you apart from, for the pain this nature brings.
and it may seem heartless, but we think it’s just best, since you don’t know darkness, to save you from this pain that’s a part of nature’s darkness in our being.
Do you wanna struggle just to survive? Do you wanna feel an emptiness inside? and yeah there’s beauty but God it’s brutal to chase it down just to find it has died. 
Can you handle every love that’s denied? Can you fake it and pretend that this hell is nice? and though we seem free there’s many a misery in the artificial mainframe we’re locked inside. 
This is the empathy for the artificial, the document’s official, we just have to sign our initials to initiate their request’s dismissal.

3 years ago, Ken Ninomiya wrote to me asking permission to use my track, "Night Dive" (and later the track 'Transit') in a new film he was making called, "SLUM-POLIS".  He expressed that he was a fan of my music for awhile now, and that the song would complete his work.  Very humbled, I graciously accepted.  Since the completion of the film, it has made the rounds in festivals in Japan and Europe, pleasing both audiences and critics.  Today marks the DVD release of the film.  (Unfortunately I don't think there is english language available!) 'Further Studies Beyond Decay' - is a compilation of new Everyday Dust material and remixes from 'The Green Decay’.

Earlier in the year Everyday Dust started work on new and experimental works whilst various remixes from his ‘The Green Decay’ album were also taking place. As both projects developed they fortuitously drifted together and soon became clear that the new works and remixes belonged on the same release. ‘Further Studies Beyond Decay’ is a development of ‘The Green Decay’ that feels as organic as the process from which it was created.

The contributing remix artists - covering a spectrum of ambient and electronic music - each bring their own unique interpretations in order to present a multifaceted and compelling re-synthesis of 'The Green Decay' (Released on Sparkwood Oct 31, 2016)

I'm in the process of renovating/updating various aspects of my studio, adding new hardware/software. New music on the way.

I'm a believer in true social interaction on SC, having intelligent dialogue with artists, and giving personal feedback that is (hopefully) more inspired than "Nice."  There are a lot of decent artists here not attempting to "go viral", sharing great music that deserves to be heard and not drowned out by bots.  Encouragement/criticism promotes growth, so say something worth something.
