In WNFTLO I deal with the acoustic and visual perception of white noise. The starting point was the memory of earlier television moments in which the image consisted only of flickering noise - a state between signal and emptiness. This visual and sonic intermediate world served as an aesthetic basis for me.
The project consists of five audiovisual compositions. Starting from the surface, each track develops in a specific sequence: first the sound manifests itself as static, then it is supplemented by structured layers and finally culminates in a complex superimposition that leads to dissolution. The visualizations illustratively follow the sound.
My research interest is in the question of how perception works when information seems to be missing. White Noise is formally undirected and empty in terms of content - and therefore rich in possibilities. Structure manifests itself in reduction, in rhythm.
