The Annoying Dog is the Flowey replacement. It's not particularly malicious, doesn't have any real desire to kill Frisk or take their soul, but it's definitely prone to being cute little bastard.

An old favourite of mine, one of the first songs I've ever made for any Undertale AU project, being preceded by only a small handful of tracks. 

The idea for the Ruins was that it would take cues from the CORE -- may serve as a hint for who our Toriel replacement is -- and that it'd've been given some necessary touch-ups from its somewhat old and decaying state. It's not inherently super technological-looking, aesthetically it's a bit cushier-looking, the tech mainly comes in in regards to the Ruins' puzzles.

As for why the motifs are what they are? You'll just have to find out in due time.

Alphys is the Toriel replacement. After a freak incident regarding Determination experiments and Monsters who had fallen down, Alphys was forced to come clean about the unfortunate results of her experiments. While nobody seemed to particularly hate or blame Alphys for what happened, she didn't feel comfortable in her position of Royal Scientist anymore and took to the Ruins which at that point had been relatively deserted, save for a small assortment of monsters.

With some help, Alphys transformed the Ruins into a much more comfortable space, not just for herself, but the monsters who she would grow attached to as she lived there. They didn't know what she had done, nobody hardly went to the Ruins, and surely nobody would gossip about her, would they?

The premise for this one is a bit different than your typical Heartache replacement, and is another remnant from the things we came up with YEARS ago.

Rather than a fight against Alphys because she wants you to stay and keep her company or whatever, Frisk wanders off on their own as Alphys leaves her house for a moment because she had business to attend to elsewhere. This leads them into the basement where the Amalgamates linger and wait for Alphys to come and feed them. Eventually, they are cornered and have nowhere to turn to.

From Alphys' point of view, you see her rushing back because she forgot to warn Frisk not to go down the basement, but realizes she's too late. When she find her way down the end of the basement, she sees Frisk cornered and struggling to escape from the Amalgamates' grip. Normally some snacks would do the trick, but that doesn't seem to be enough right now. This triggers a "fight" sequence handled from Alphys' point of view.

Originally, Chara replaces Monster Kid, and they serve as an occasional party member who pops in every now and again. At best, they're somewhat skeptical of Frisk, but not to the extent of being willing to attack them... immediately. Do anything to harm a monster, however...

One of Gaster's Followers replaces Napstablook, and simultaneously serve as a tutorial for multi-party-member battles. After the tragic demise of Dr. Gaster and Dr. Alphys quit, this Follower moved its way to the Ruins where it would try and convince Alphys to return to the lab some day, if only to carry on Dr. Gaster's legacy.

The Follower, who sees TWO humans, realizes they have an opportunity to contribute to science and aims to extract the two human SOULs to offer to Alphys, unaware that that's the LAST thing Alphys wants at this point.

Napstablook is the Ruins Dummy replacement. Much like usual, they sometimes like to spend their time in the Ruins because they assume nobody will show up to bother them. Little do they know that Alphys is in dire need of a training assistant to show Frisk the ropes of fighting, and their moment of relief and relaxation is cut short.

Even More Childish Behavior

Monster Mix is an Undertale AU made by a friend of mine back in 2016-2017. They've unfortunately since left the Undertale SoundCloud scene, but I still look back on this AU rather fondly. We've gone through numerous attempts of reiterating the AU, but the approach I'm taking here is having it based heavily on the oldest versions of the roles we had decided on. While the newer ones were definitely very cool too, it doesn't feel right to do that new take without them on board.

The roles will be revealed as time goes on, but there's a decent chance they're already known to quite a handful of you.
