US artist eleven.five continues to provide the Silk Music label family with intelligent and inspiring music. His last single on Arrival, "The Way We Were", received support from the likes of Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond, and now he is ready with the follow-up, "Simple Steps To Becoming A Giant", which was also featured on the "Arrival 01: Destination United Kingdom" compilation.

A haunting soundscape is quickly established, including an unexpected, yet beautiful woodwind line. The percussion elements form a strong groove, which is spiced up with delicate sound effects and arpeggio lines as the song progresses. The break features a mesmerizing piano line, which is brilliantly supported by an energy-filled theme riff. Intelligent chord changes are showcased after the break, as well as an intriguing light string layer that provides additional texture. eleven.five also offers us a Club Mix, which includes a more dancefloor-oriented section after the main break.

Barzek & Jethimself, hailing from Australia and the USA, present a glorious two-track EP to our parent label. Part of a new generation of melodic progressive house artists, this exciting new duo has a special talent for melodic, soulful, and often romantic compositions. 

The lead track on the EP is "Everest", which, all puns aside, is a rewarding journey through a beautiful progressive landscape. In addition to the euphoric lead chords, a string arrangement in the breakdown transports the listener to the spiritual oasis of the Himalayas. This cut is paired with "Genesis", which was already previewed on our recent Silk Royal Showcase 04 release. Evocative instrumentation, with a clear Asiatic influence, highlights this emotionally nourishing gem.

Barzek & Jethimself - Genesis [Silk Digital]

Blood Groove & Kikis are here hot off the success of their debut album "Wonderland" and on Nuevadeep with the "Never Ending" EP.   Their progressive groover 'Without You' comes along with two power-play remixes from Jon Bach and Talamanca which push the beach house vibe and deeper brooding prog-trance twist.   The original has already made a statment of its own on a recent Nueva compilation and is now back to rattle our speakers for what seems like the umpteenth time; BG&K really understand traditional progressive house.  Jon Bach has been a recent contributor to Nueva and we really enjoy his take on this one.  With a summer beach vibe that puts relaxation up to a whole new level this is definitely one to shut the world out.  Finally we come to Talamanca's remix with it's tight balance between powerful full range chords and fluttering upper synths.  We couldn't ask for anything better than this depth and warmth in this remix!
