Believe’ is the title track of our new EP and is about believing in yourself and how challenging it can be to maintain the mindset you need to achieve your goals. It’s about knowing in your heart that if you work hard enough, you will succeed. The song also explores themes of sobriety and how challenging remaining so can be. It’s also a celebration of how lucky we are to have such amazing support and love from our family and friends in the pursuit of our dreams. 

‘Keep Believin’ is a lyric from the single and was a mantra we adopted during the pandemic. It was something we’d say to each other if one of us was feeling down. We experienced so much loss and heartbreak during those times and so in certain moments, it was really difficult for us to keep believing in what we were doing, and so we are really proud and excited to have come out the other side of it and have this new body of work ready to share with the world. 

The four tunes on this EP collectively encompass the message of keeping the faith, regardless of how difficult the circumstances you find yourself in are, and so it felt natural for the EP to be named ‘Believe’. 

Musically, we wanted to push beyond the boundaries of disco we explored on our first EP and showcase a wider range of influences including RnB, Soul and Funk, while still retaining some of the key musical elements of disco. Our aim was to create something that sounds fresh and modern but that also feels as familiar and as timeless as your favourite worn in record.

The visualiser is a montage of footage from a number of our live dates over the past year, including a show where we supported Nile Rodgers & Chic. We wanted to show a different side to us with this visual and shine light on the wider members of the Rayowa project. We play live as a 9 piece with a group of really incredible musicians who are some of our best friends. The energy we all feel when we play gigs together is amazing and like nothing any of us have experienced in a band before. We wanted to give viewers an insight into that and a flavour of how our live shows look and feel.
