Hard on the heels of the frankly epic Nesh EP, we're back again with three more pieces of underground D&B fire for your listening pleasure, this time from Emphasis, two brothers from Vienna.

Track one is Fragile. Sampled from a Sting track of the same name, it's a sublime liquid roller full of jumps and twists, powered by a epic vocal hook that'll ring in your ears long after the track's over.

Track two is Time Goes By. Another big rolling liquid track with a tactful inflection, this one's just a little bit deeper than the Fragile, but no less potent. DJs, you'll want this for your collection.

Track three is Exploration. The EP's namesake, it's a powerful, understated halftime weapon that drops and then evolves into a vicious, yet tasteful track.

One year on from the launch of their inaugural “Rotation” programme, Addictive Behaviour’s various-artist shuttle orbits earth once more. On board this time, a crew of 21 intrepid pioneers, bringing with them a diverse spectrum of musicality and D&B engineering expertise to the quest. Armed, locked and loaded with an assault of sophisticated phonic weaponry, their mission is simple. Audio annihilation!

This 2nd chapter to Addictive Behaviour’s dynamic album series is their most ambitious project to date. An otherworldly journey showcasing an edgy and explosive array of raw talent from a collective of old and new artists from the Addictive camp. Embarking on this Rotation, and making their label debut is an impressive ensemble of well-known names as well as fresh up and coming, cutting edge producers. Nick Bee rains in the darker, techy vibes with his “Ghetto Politics”, as do Kyrist & Babarix in their obliterating “Maikuro Funk” collab. Meanwhile, Release, Tephra & Arkoze, Data 3 & Modu provide their own unique variations, beaming with moody subs and percussive vibes, encapsulating the Addictive Behaviour tone to great effect. Philth adds a fresh, melodic, vocal composition to the deep end of the mix in “The Big Question” whilst Dom & Roland’s Xanadu is commissioned for remixing duties delivering an explosive new take on Detail’s “Breakout”.

Talking of which, joining the new recruits on this expedition, long term label regulars Detail & L 33 step into the fray, flexing their elements of neuro-tech styles and adding momentum to this growing satellite of revolving music production. Also on board this charter, some recent Addictive additions. Mystic State’s “Eye Contact” and Nami’s “Downpour” push the audio transit on with their bass fuelled roller’s rocketing us in to unknown territory.

Finally, kicking in the afterburn, are the Rotation – Part One veterans. Artifact returns with another relentless aural display in “Materialist” whilst Fade brings a heavy metallic attack in “Hold Tight” Finishing off the universal carnage TR Tactics are joined by relative label newcomers The Clamps to bring us a full on neuro assault in “Conscious”.

Rotation –Part Two will be making it’s re-entry in to Earth’s atmosphere on September the 30th. The 14 track LP is an awe-inspiring amalgamation of complex layered productions showing us once again the label’s ability to evolve. An immersive and varied, frontier pushing display with one unifying theme echoing from its core once again. . . Good quality production.

Fame and fortune: doesn’t everyone dream of such luxuries in our modern world? Indeed, such lofty positions seem to appear out of thin air to those who are visited by them, gifts from a gilt messenger that fall randomly upon those who do not even ask for it. What? Then, what must I do to receive such a visitation. Is it not enough that I want it? Is it not enough that I crave with every ounce of my being the admiration of all those around me? To be the object of their envious stares? So many waste their stardom, squandering it with their “effort” and “devotion” as though they’ve forgotten that they’re already famous!

Were I to be in their position, I would certainly not waste away such golden moments with such pointless work. I would sit, not upon a couch but upon a throne, exquisitely decorated with only the finest of materials. There, I would languish in my lavish lifestyle, my every need attended to by the throngs of adoring fans who would celebrate my very existence. It’s a shame really that no one notices how fit I would be for the lifestyle, the parties, the photos, the “doing nothing” all day. I’ve certainly got that last part well practiced. We’re being famous actually a job, I’d be a shoe in for the position. It's not though of course, and all the smart people know that. Some may claim to have worked for it, some may claim to have taken years to reach their status, but I know differently. I know what they say isn't true. I know it's not you that makes fame, but fame that makes you.

AKOV returns to the EATBRAIN pack with his latest EP YOU WANT IT. Following up 2017s Shapeshifter EP on the label, YOU WANT IT is the latest in a high volume of releases from AKOV across further labels such as C4C Recordings, Bad Taste Recordings, and Othercide Records. On display for the first time within the EP are AKOV’s own rap vocals, such as on the titular U WANT IT, which features a rapid fire vocal lead before launching into a chaotically warped bassline signature of the AKOV sound. The twin mixes of BLIND then contrast each other, with the SUN MIX charting melodic course marked by reverberating synth sweeps and a smoother sung vocal melody, while the MOON MIX features an elastic bassline alongside these elements. INTERSTELLAR’s electric sonic elements combine with the vocals of MULTIPLEX for a frantic audio sequence which closes the EP at lightspeed. With YOU WANT IT, AKOV displays his singular sound design & inimitable attitude in tandem with the addition of his own vocal talent for an EP that set to make an impact via the EATBRAIN label.

Having survived the treacherous path that now lay behind them, a group of ardent adventurers found themselves before the gates of a great temple, shrouded in mists atop the highest peak in their land. From within rang out a titanic voice that shook the earth with its every word, permeating the very souls of those who stood before the gate. “Hear me, supplicants to this temple” rang its initial call, “Know that you tread upon the grounds of Snake Monastery, and that you shall face many tests and trials should you seek to proceed in whatever quest hath brought you here. You now face the LAVA RUN, and should you hope to continue you must prove your worth.” These words the voice left to echo throughout the mountain peaks as the adventurers set to the task before with utmost resolve. Utilizing every ounce of their combined might, they heaved open the doors to the great temple, which shuddered open to reveal a most terrifying sight. Approaching unstoppably towards them was a boulder of titanic size, seemingly unseated from its pedestal by the gate’s monumental motion. With practiced synchronicity the adventurers sprang into action, preparing to meet the boulder head on in the midst of its fast approaching onslaught. Yet, at the last moment before their inevitable collision, one amongst the adventurers raised a single fist and struck with all of their might at the boulder’s core. With nary a second remaining before it would have crushed the party beneath its incomprehensible mass, the boulder was reduced to naught but dust, and the path forwards through the temple lay open. “It seems you are indeed of the strength to continue,” came the voice from within “but brawn alone will not grant you admittance to the Snake Monastery’s inner sanctum. Continue further, if you are truly worthy, and face the next trial!”

GYDRA return to EATBRAIN with their latest single, LAVA RUN. Following a dearth of releases across labels such as Bad Taste Recordings, C4C Recordings, EATBRAIN, and their own label Neuropunk Recordings, GYDRA’s latest single sees the duo displaying the raw force of their sonic capabilities at maximum capacity as they seek to discover who amongst the EATBRAIN horde is strong enough to complete this trial and those yet to come.
