Podcast #035 : Masafumi Take.

Born in 1990. Originally from Kochi prefecture, now residing in Tokyo. He started organizing his own nights in 2011 where he honed his dj skills. Playing anything from classic to cuttingedge tracks, his smooth mixing brings a unique tension and intonation to the ﬂoor through individualistic loops. By gaining his reputation through his dj sets and an insatiable pursuit of the techno scene led him to play regularly in Osaka as well as various venues in mid and West Japan. As an organizer he has brought over many prevalent modern techno artists such as Claudio PRC, Ness, Luigi Tozzi and Refracted, in order to evolve the techno scene in Japan. In 2014 he moved to Tokyo where he linked up with his main partner Kannabi to start the techno party Katharsis. In recent years his music production skills have ﬂourished, hence, set up the label Katharsis Recordings. The ﬁrst release is sprit 12 from the Label founder Masafumi Take and Kannabi. Also include IORI and Takaaki Itoh remix. He is recognized as the next generation to take up the techno mantle in Japan.

Her musical journey began on the piano at the tender age of 4 and evolved to embrace techno in all its glory once she hit her teens. More recently, Emika launched her very own label, ‘Human Lessons’ and has taken her sound to Europe for the very first time, which we have no doubts went down beautifully! Welcome to Emika <3

Defined as "a garden of sound in a universe of uncharted possibilities", Alexandar has already released one EP (from Void & Materia) and three LP's from italian newcomer Aquiver and Void himself. A new one by french Martin Goodwin & Infinity has recently been announced, and looks as promising as the actual label's catalogue. Definitely worth to follow !

Crescent London is a new deep & hypnotic techno label centred on ambient textures and dub elements. For the label launch, the London-based collective put together a 13 track 'Various Artists' compilation of some of their favourite producers. Named "Magnetic Fields", the V/A is focusing on electric atmospheres and textures, locking the listener deep in the groove and the hypnosis. From drone and euphoric atmospheres to detailed broken-techno, the compilation displays a textured view on contemporary techno, elegant and mental, yet ready for the clubs to re-open.
