Sybil is a storyteller, her sets bring listeners along on exciting voyages through the imagination. At the core of Sybil’s mystical selections is an emotional depth, textural clarity and a sense of space.
Equally adept at playing propulsive deep techno, as she is at exploring hazy breaks, sumptuous downtempo, soaring trance, expansive drone, and even full-throttle drum and bass, Sybil’s sets often criss-cross through all of these genres and more, as she guides dancers on journeys which are emotive, thrilling and ultimately revitalising. 
Based in London, a notable UK-flair for genre-fluidity and diagonal rhythms can be found within her psychedelic techno excursions. Sybil’s DJing has taken her across revered events and venues on the global stage including: Dekmantel, Waking Life, Paral·lel, Positive Education, De School, Berlin Atonal, WHOLE, Dimensions, La Nature, Mo:Dem, Harmony, Nowadays (New York), Transcendance (Japan), Miscellania (Melbourne) and ZVUK (Kazakhstan).
Whilst Sybil’s club sets are often geared for energetic dance floor exhilaration, her numerous mixes are notable for their highly visual narrative arcs. Subtly accelerating and decelerating between disparate BPMs, she stitches together music from a broad palette of textures, contrasting new finds with long forgotten gems to create memorable journeys which are both rewarding and entrancing. Sybil has released singular mixes for platforms such as Monument, Crack Magazine, Patterns of Perception, Dimensions, Ute, INVEINS and Mysteries of the Deep. 
Ambient sets form a core part of Sybil’s repertoire, and she also curates the much-loved ambient, drone and experimental mix series, Deep Mind Music, which she has run since 2017.

There is a big black heart in Barcelona that it is still beating. Three weeks later, we’re still digesting the magic that was the fourth edition of Mostra festival. From the most intimate listening moments to collective catharsis on the dancefloor, this year was something else.

Starting from the end this year, we’re proud to present the recorded closing set from Mostra's resident ABSIS, who delivered a deeply emotional finale that distilled everything Mostra stands for: a blend of force, finesse, energy and passion — all woven into one.

Across four editions, countless moments, different days and stages, ABSIS has always been there: reading the different dance floors, adapting, connecting the dots between sound and feelings. Being a resident is more than just playing; it’s embodying the festival’s pulse, giving it identity and continuity, and raising the collective experience to another level.

If you’ve journeyed with Mostra through the years, you know how central ABSIS (alongside Timnah and Patrick Russell) has been to shaping that Mostra spirit. If you haven’t yet, you may find the chance next year.

And now, for the first time: ABSIS closing the festival. A powerful tribute to what it means to support the local scene, not just by listing names from the city, but by creating moments like this one that matters.

Hello and welcome back to The Poeticast!

As we roll onto  Episode 325 we are joined by ABSIS, a true pioneer of the Barcelona Electronic music scene. This show is an exclusive Live Recording of his Warmup set at LAUT CLUB Barca a few weeks ago!

ABSIS is a Barcelona-based DJ and producer known for his deep and introspective Techno music. He has been a regular in the Barcelona scene since the late 90s, performing at events like The Loft (Razzmatazz) and Sonar and Mostra. ABSIS explores the deeper side of electronic music, seamlessly transitioning between Ambient and Techno. He has released music on labels like Hivern Discs, Oslated, and Huinali Recordings.

19:00 pm on a cloudy and blurry day/world but internally the sun is radiant. Great communion of familiar and new faces gathered for the same cause. Serious start. We are smoothly grooving with elegance with delicate emotional pads, on point percussion and beautiful squeeze sounds/residues. Pleasant ear-to-ear stereo noisy sounds or a really present and protagonist mono shaker are key in the middle of all this marvelous soundscapes. We have not realized it but we are wrapped up, as if it was the best blunt, in an unrepeatable atmosphere. Major heart acceleration. Exquisite. Time to take a deep breath and get back on track. The first drops begin to fall, with more and more intensity, just like our rhythm on the worked dance floor. Great and happy vibes make us keep smiling at each other while dancing coordinated from one side to another. A rollercoaster of switched emotions caused by high level palpable cracking textures, sweet aggressiveness soundscapes along with a cosy kick (the whole time) and catchy classy dark and bright synths. 
20:58 pm. Definitely happiness can be found even in the darkest of times if one only remember to switch on the light (trip). On (a) switch trip. Trip on Switch.
