Just above the valley diffused in the fluffed-up clouds arises colourful towers. The receding mist opens up high castle walls enveloped by wandering garden paths. Wherever you go, whatever you lay eyes on – greenery is dancing with the sky of blue. The sun has made it under the tree canopy to illuminate overflowing basins full of fire-red fish while trickling down water tickles lovingly ears mercilessly worn by the city.
Indeed ears can rest from here up to the welcoming flute of waves heard just beyond the horizon. The flute heard so recently and at the same time anticipated for more than six years – Luigi Tozzi finally leaves an imprint on Black Wave’s sandy shores. Raised in Rome, the DJ and Producer takes influence from the timeless Italian sound, which he’s further developed with an emotional, swirling, dubby atmosphere. There’s an unmistakable texture to his productions.
Over the last years, @luigitozzi has been making a name for himself as one of the go-to DJs for his distinct brand of techno that draws both from ambient and club music. @hypnus, @mentalmodern, @nonseries, @outis-music and @012twelve – Luigi has kept his output within a close family of labels. His commitment to sound alongside his pensive and considered development as an artist has brought Luigi Tozzi to where he is today.

Hello! Friends of the Monument.

Our guest for this episode is Luigi Tozzi(@luigitozzi). An Italian based producer with releases on influential labels like Dynamic Reflection and Hypnus Records (Sweden). We could expect to hear more from Luigi in the future as you could read about in the Q&A. On the note of “future”, this mix showcases a futuristic landscape of techno sounds and grooves. A real treat for the mind.

1. Which DJ would you like to share a beer and a conversation with? Why?

Probably with the guys from Northern Electronics, especially with Acronym.
I am paying a lot of attention to their output and like it very much, it's interesting
to me  how they express all a similar mood in their music, but keeping a very distinctive
and individual touch. They are very careful not to unveil too much about themselves, which is something that I respect, but I'd be very curious to know a bit more about their methods and workflow.

2. How do you make your music? And whats up with the deep and sci-fi sound style? 

I make my music with an hybrid setup, I own some analog machines (Ms20 mini/Microbrute and a couple drum machines) but I tend to work and process a lot in the box with Ableton and some plugin bundles. This is the way I will continue to work in my solo project, but in the future I am planning to make a collaboration with a friend here in 
Rome which will be centered only on machines. I think that jamming and arranging live can be very stimulating for creativity and I'm very looking forward to give it a try.

3. What's happening in the future? (releases, gigs etc)

A lot is happening in the next months, with Hypnus we will release a LP with great artists (such as Cassegrain,Ness, Svreca, Mike Parker, Alan Backdrop, Orphx, Cio d'Or and Edit Select) remixing our works from the past year.This will be released in January and in the following months I already have three solo releases confirmed and some remixes. Also I am very excited about starting to work on a live set, I know this won't be easy and will take some time but it's an objective I have fixed as a goal for 2015.

4. Any words to the people out there mesmerized by your sound? 

No I'll just take the chance to say THANK YOU to everyone who is supporting what I am doing, I would have never expected my first two releases to go out of stock that fast and I am very grateful for this.

Monument Festival 2019: Hydrangea

As communities across the world unite in a shared vow to protect the vulnerable in our society, we find ourselves mesmerised by another very special union, this time of a musical trio – Kill Acid on Space, Unclear and Øyvind – collectively known as The Alchemical Theory. 

A project born from a shared love for mysticism, alchemy and nature, the creative union of these three Italian artists and friends is working wonders – three artistic visions united to gift us with an endless stream of inspiration (check out Illegal Alien Records, Northallsen Records, End of Perception, Norite, Lett Records and more recently, Affin), with plenty more where this came from (keep an eye on Oslated on 30th March!). 

We’re honoured to the max to be able to bring you their brand new live set, delivering a remarkable trip through otherworldly dimensions, guided by deep and alluring, atmospheric soundscapes to infiltrate and awaken the deepest corners of the mind, coupled with driving rhythms calling to our desire for freedom – freedom from the constraints of our minds, bodies and external environment.

Inhmost is one of the monikers of S.Huxtable who wanted a representation for the more ambient and downtempo works that he creates which would allow the freedom of expression within these genres.

The goal of the Inhmost sound is to blend deep atmospheric feelings and organic nature that combine into a dreamlike state of mind that come straight from the heart.  The intention is that whilst listening to the music the listener is transported to calmer places of beauty and of light and shade.

Inhmost 는 앰비언트와 다운템포의 장르적 범주에서 자유로운 표현을 지향하는 S.Huxtable 의 또 다른 이름이다. Inhmost 사운드의 목적은 깊은 대기적 감정들과 유기적 자연을 섞어내어 마음에서 우러나오는 꿈과도 같은 정신으로 결합하는 것이다. 
그 의도는 음악을 듣는동안 청자들이 아름다움, 그리고 빛과 어둠의 고요한 공간으로 이동하기를 위한 것이다.
