Mysterious effects invading the ear with a dark movement that comes in and out. It makes me feel like I am in a cave seeing a ritualistic ceremony of the ages. Reggy Van Oers has definitely found a sound that fits the world of techno. 

With the experimental nature of his techno style he creates a 3 dimensional environment in his tracks, it combines the progressive appeal of trance but keeps it dark and deep. It rolls off your body and stays ever changing… After his debut release “Metza” on Trapez Ltd in 2007 he got great feedback from out the globe. Both tracks on this EP were used in the Trapez Selection 6 mixed by Traum’s label owner Riley Reinhold aka Triple R. Soon after his debut EP he released “Matar” on Field Records that later on was licensed to Manual Music. Berghain’s resident DJ Boris, played “Matar” many times in his sets and selected it as a favourite in his all time top ten tracks. Sabre, Real Desert Fish, Boldarani, Indovine, Centipede and Untitled X2 were released on Joachim Spieth’s imprint Affin. Real Desert Fish got remixed by Sleaze Records (UK) label boss Hans Bouffmyhre, while Indovine was remixed by the BCR Boys!!! On Tongut Records the Myst EP appeared as a solid 3-tracker, less melody but arranged with dark vocals and stirry atmospheres. His music keeps focusing on deep evolving grooves, almost hypnotic melodic elements all captivated by a strong steady beat. 

Recently he released Evasive and TRC on Affin. Evasive was remixed by Jonas Kopp and Sinuosity received a beautiful rework from Ness. With TRC, that got remixes by Modularz label boss Developer and Chris Page, he shows he keeps on moving into darker territories.

Krake Festival introduces French Electro / Acid legend: Umwelt

Hail­ing from Lyon fruit­ful rave scene of the 90’s, Umwelt never let out of his way by the gleam­ing neon lights of the compromise.
Trac­ing its way under the Techno Rave and Elec­tro patron­age of Drex­ciya, and armed with its analogs machines for friends only, the French was care­ful enough not to kill the fire of the first men. Umwelt con­tin­ues indeed the work of pio­neers, namely pro­duc­ing a fash­ion wild trans­porta­tion, direct, able to take the lis­tener into the under­ground worlds as well as the infi­nite space.Owner of two labels (New Flesh and Rave Or Die), author of three albums and twenty EP’s on infa­mous labels such like Ship­wrec, Satamile, Dri­ve­com or Kom­mando 6, the pro­ducer never took a rest and has always fol­lowed his instinc­tive pre­scrip­tion: to cre­ate again and again, not by desire but by need. Umwelt is rare, his music is unique.

Manuel Fogliata, aka Nuel, is part of a new wave of techno coming from Italy, led by studio partner Donato Dozzy. Togheter Nuel and Dozzy have released two highly sought after Aquaplano EPs, now selling for hundreds of Euros in Discogs. The Aquaplano sounds explores hypnotic techno and meditative ambient in equal measure. Nuel is continuing to expand his musical horizons, with his latest EP explorig electro and drum and bass. In late 2011 he will release his debut album on Further Records , a beautiful and deeply introspective work.

Local boy SHLTR has been a steady up and comer the last year in the Amsterdam techno scene. The atmospheric and deep sound behind his style transfers to his Konstrukt Label and parties. With his first EP on his own imprint followed by a solid Cassegrain and Sendai release, and sets amongst Heavyweights such as Voices from the Lake and Marco Shuttle on the horizon, his stock is on the rise in the scene. And hopefully bringing it with it this particular style of techno.

Techno music always was a substance, made of contrasts - it was born in Motor City, befriended man and machine, combined live emotions and technical precision. These features should be the best to describe music from young Russian producer Aleks Unbalance.  Born in Siberia, Unbalance debuted in 2008 and it took a few years to create his own unique style. In his music you can find distinct symbiosis of strong emotions and industrial themes, which is eclectic and conjoins with technically accurate treatment in music story making.  In a series of records, released on the same name record label, Unbalance could realize his ideas fully - this fresh sound was a bombshell and it was demonstrated with his live performance in Berghain club, world’s techno Mecca, only a year and series of gigs in another legendary club Tresor.  When got support of techno scene old stagers, Unbalance proceed to develop his ideas, expanding a verges of techno and collaborating with a lot of significant artists in Rebalance project. In the artist's achievment list vinyl releases on such labels as A.R.T.S., PoleGroup, Rawax, Solid Groove, participation in the legendary Fabric compilation from Steffi, etc. At the moment, Aleks is a resident and one of the ideologists of the techno-association Monasterio.  In his performances Unbalance endeavors to combine a whole techno ages, gives his due to classic techno, gets inspiration in futuristic sound and mixing it with a modern techno wave, which is what he is. His style of performing is so close to his own works and it creates unique atmosphere on a dance floor, no matter is it private party or big rave in Berlin Berghain.
