Here's the recording of my recent gig at Paloma in Berlin. I played the opening for one of my all-time favourite producers: mighty Ian Pooley. A deep-house fueled warmup set with loads of classic tunes and recent and unreleased gems.

A few words by I:Cube. 
I've always been collecting records—for the pure essence of music, of course, as a sound source for sampling, for my DJ sets in various clubs, and, not to forget, for the weird and captivating album covers.
During my teenage years, I had a unique Saturday tradition. I would explore Parisian public libraries in search of unknown records to feed my sampler. 
Records were expensive, and without the internet, apart from the radio, this was my way of discovering new music and refining my musical taste.

Fast forward more than three decades, a serendipitous encounter took place with Damien Poncet, a cultural mediator who works at the Médiathèque Musicale de Paris. This remarkable institution boasts an impressive collection of over 100,000 records. 
Following an extensive conversation, a captivating idea emerged: to craft a musical composition using samples from this vast vinyl archive. 
The grand stage selected for this daring concert? None other than the iconic Forum des Halles, located in the heart of a historic Parisian district. Once renowned as Paris' largest food market, bearing the moniker "le ventre de Paris," the Forum des Halles underwent a transformation into a massive shopping center in the early 1980s. 

Performing this diverse and otherworldly musical blend live at the very core of this consumer paradise was also an immense source of enjoyment and highly surreal.
The concert was open to all, inviting anyone passing by to join in and listen.
This project was a golden opportunity to pay tribute to Paris's public libraries in a place rich with history and full of personal memories.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to Géraldine Hervé-Dannhauer, Mehdi Herzberg, Stéphane Laporte, Patrick Santos, and all the students from the Ecole Estienne in Paris, who contributed to the visual performance inspired by a selection of record covers during the show.

Radio On Vacation with Raw Silk

The Finnish electronic music pioneer and all-time favorite Jori Hulkkonen is at the helm for the new Kaiku Mix, arriving just in time for Christmas. This year Jori celebrated the 30th anniversary of his first vinyl release, his 50th birthday as well as the release of the wonderful new album There Is Light Hidden In These Shadows (featuring John Grant, Tiga, Art Feynman and The Beloved among others).

The Kaiku Mix is an honest look at the material that Hulkkonen currently plays at his DJ gigs: the main focus is on interesting new music with exclusive versions of his own tracks thrown in.

Over the course of the past ten years, Berlin Based DJ and producer Johannes Paluka, otherwise known as Iron Curtis or Achterbahn D’amour, has been pushing his signature style of deep and atmospheric house and techno music with the world via such labels as Retreat, 4 Lux, Hudd Traxx and Acid Test to name a few.

With an excellent new six-track EP about to drop on Office Recordings, Paluka kindly provided us with a superb hour long recording for the 63rd edition of our Mix Series.
