We fell in love with Norwegian https://soundcloud.com/atella after hearing just a few notes. With her enchanting voice, Kristiane lures you into a dreamlike state and lets you experience the seductive sound of Atella’s electronic pop music. ‘The Monster’ is their impressive first output and leaves us hungry for more.

London based electronic soul music duo Stubborn Heart, signed to One Little Indian, seemed perfect to add breaks and bass to ‘The Monster’. We are big fans of their debut album (which was crowned Album Of The Year at Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards 2013), imagine how excited we were about their contribution.

Xinobi, who runs the Discotexas label with Moullinex, recently did remarkable remixes for Agnes Obel and John Grant. His taste in music is rather eclectic, as are his productions. He strips Atella’s original to its core, leaving only the vocals behind. His rework is built around an uplifting piano lick and a ridiculously funky bassline. From Portugal with love.

The Monster is taken from ‘The Blue Collection’, the second installment in a new compilation series on Eskimo based around colours. It’s the follow-up to last year’s lauded 'The Pink Collection’.

Without a doubt, Kiriku is the hottest upcoming producer of contemporary Balearic Beat music of this year. Kiriku lives between London and Ibiza, two poles which are well audible in his versatile style, ranging from groovy Downtempo to clubby House. Uplifting Balearic atmospheres meet jazzy club vibes, featuring loose drum programming, jazzy chords, bouncy basses, laid back vocals and sophisticated sampling. From song structures to straight up club tracks, his tunes always combine electronic and acoustic instruments, which results in a throughout warm and organic feel.

His new EP for The Magic Movement is co-produced and mixed by The Magic Movement's label head honcho Noema, who gave „Washingtonia“ an extended balearic club treatment. If you liked Dj Gregory's „Elle“ back in the days, this will be right up your alley.

„Santa Rita“ features the vocalists Monblume, Yalisaxx on Saxophone and comes with a bouncy uptempo club version of Brazil's own Kurup.

„Jacaranda“ features Hallyx on vocals and is accompanied by a remix by no one other than legendary Balearic Beat DJ, producer and label owner Chris Coco, who gave the track a dubby and extended chill-out & sunset-sound treatment.

Holy Oker is the solo project of musician Greg Rhodes, a drummer from Vancouver Canada who now calls Los Angeles home. Greg sought to strip away the instrument that had always been his identity in order to find a new, yet to be known sound. 

This EP was born out of a musician without his safety net searching for a voice without the comfort of familiarity. The result is stripped back, bare, and without anything fancy to hide behind. These simple but powerful songs expose their raw message through minimal production and earnest lyrics. Holy Oker explores themes of solitude, letting go and forgiveness while striking to find a balance and harmony between one’s old self and the always emerging new. It is the result of an artist peeling back his layers and moving beyond his comfort zone in order to break new ground.
