Les Deux are an up-and-coming duo from Paris with only a few productions to their name. Once you hear "Jolie" chances are you'll be hooked. A seemingly endless journey of simplistic keys, it's mediative rhythm effortlessly orbits from one deep house plateau to the next with the incorporation of soft drum kicks and chimes. We’re happy to announce Stavroz’s first EP on Moodfamily: 'Silent Spring'. Having already released on labels such as Bedrock, Wired and Délicieuse Musique, the Belgian band is ready for their highly anticipated follow up, delivering an EP ready for sunscreen and ripe for the picking. 

In the title track, frivolous bass guitars accompany a broadly shouldered melody and gently carry the track to glory while a snug piano hides in the breaks, building a beautiful contrast. 'A Great Day to Fly a Kite' brings horns straight from miles high, happily intertwining with a ruthless groove, pushing the atmosphere and delivering a quirky impact on the dance floor. 'Should've brought an Umbrella' graciously closes the EP with a touching - and at the same time organic sound.

Schleiermacherstrasse is part of Stiff Little Spinners Vol. 6 (Audiolith).

Stiff Little Spinners enters it’s 6th volume with a 5 track package spanning the widest sonic spectrum imaginable. Its tracks, in typical Spinners fashion, range from r&b influenced house grooves to shimmering, broken-beat, new-age garage swing. Gimmix & Zorro prove their penchant for urban slow jams with a dance floor flavour. Their opener Oveile builds in a slow, sleazy fashion, eventually trading its more unpredictable drum arrangement for a sturdy 4/4 rhythm. The melody surges harmoniously, navigating the walls of its club-ready time signature, a phenomenal introduction to a mind-blowing collection of tracks.   Rampue slows things down on the A2 with Schleiermacherstrasse; a tripped-out, hazy roller with enough chime to hypnotise an entire stadium. This is not to say Volume 6 contains big room tracks, but rather the music’s power commands attention. This is certainly true for Kalipo’s Mäusemarsch, which whirls, in mesmerizing fashion achieving a climax fit for the party at its peak.   Krink’s Close Distance is perhaps the darkest sounding track offered by the Spinners - it seriousness and condensed energy is bound to leave audiences sweating, until its ferocious bassline gives way to soaring synths and jarred drums.   Joney changes the formula altogether - his sophisticated K-Hole Surfers offers a chugging, dubbed out roller which owes as much to techno as it does to dubstep. It is perhaps unsurprising from the track’s title that one feels like they are riding a rather erratic wave, delving in and out of our universe.   Already on their 6th volume, and churning out high-quality, club-ready tracks, this collective is set for big things.

The topic of „Salome“ fits the two producers Kadebostan and Laolu from Switzerland perfectly. Just listen to their prior releases on Freude Am Tanzen, fenou or Clap Your Hands. The melodies sway back and forth - dreamy and full of peace. The rhythm group plays along and only the most necessary things. And even though the vocal phrases retain their own character, they blend into this musical structure as if they were made for these tracks. The A and the B face show a masterly crafted arrangement. It would be a mistake not to listen to the whole, as one would miss the feeling to let yourself go. As usual, the lovingly designed 10inch record is a limited edition and numbered by hand.

With a smooth and very catchy arpeggio line, a heart breaking chord progression in the breakdowns as well as some innovative but still pumping drum sections Daniel shows why he still has it, why experience and wisdom can make a little difference.
On the AA-side BENHAM CREEK rocks with a rolling psy bassline and a amtmospheric oriental flute solo that lifts the track up to the gods of psy-house music. Yes, some might say, this still has to be invented. We say, it already has been invented and Daniel Portman takes good credit for that.
