'Moodphase5ive - Super Deluxe Mode' is a collection of remixes from 'Steady On' by a variety of top and up-n-coming South African producers and remix artists, supplemented by live takes from SA and European tours. The first single is 'Got To Give', featuring the all-girl rapping trio Godessa, which came about as result of a collaboration with the AIDS-awareness program 'Steps to the Future'. The track deals with taking responsibility in sexual relationships, and is coupled with an excellent video produced by Big World Cinema and directed by Eddie Edwards.

The album runs from start to finish like a customised 'mixtape' – with remixes ranging in style from hednod hiphop thru dub, funk and downtempo to broken-beat, drum 'n bass and even gangsta 2-step, spiced with freaky interludes of the band's jam sessions and live takes from tours in Africa and Europe. The album features remixes by established names Kalahari Surfers, Felix Laband, Mime, Syllabic and Anti-Hero, and showcases newcomers Bombshelter Hi-Fi, Agent Cooper, Drugless Lovestrong and more.

Biography
Iconic South African Live Hip Hop band, Moodphase5ive, is well loved for their innovative funk, soul and live dub groove- and was integral in introducing an urban Cape Town sound to the International music scene. The members hail from South Africa, Namibia, Malawi and Italy.

The band first came together in 1997. Back then the line up included turntablist, Adam Lieber and brothers Jean Tofte (guitar), Fanus Tofte (bass) and Brian de Goede (drumkit). Vocalist Denver Turner aka Ultra Bzurrk and Dform, soon joined- bringing the already potent trio a strong story teller. Ernestine Deane aka Lady E soon followed and brought the group a powerful feminine presence with her unique voice.

The band played to full houses wherever they travelled and in 1999 they were joined by Douglas Armstrong (trumpet), Bood Carver (bass) and Craig Damster (keyboards/ production), who produced the groundbreaking debut album, Steady On- released in 2000 by the popular Cape Town based independant label, African Dope Records. Steady On and the subsequent remix album, In Superdeluxe Mode, enjoyed many licensing deals for South African commercials, African films as well as American and Canadian TV series- not to mention no.1 and top ten slots on various South African radio charts.

Moodphase5ive went on to support top international acts such as Jazzanova, Ninja Tunes' Amon Tobin and Kid Koala, Omar, Mica Paris, Morcheeba, Basement Jaxx and Asian Dub Foundation, to name just a few.
Their performances at international festivals such as the North Sea Jazz festival, Westerpop, Lowlands and Pukkelpop put them on the map as a dynamic live act, and led to several invitations to perform in Europe.

Ten years on, the band is planning the release of various unheard tracks as well as some new recordings.
