Abtin Golfam (b. 2003), who is also known by his pseudonym ‘T-Noll’ is an independent composer from Iran. He started playing music when he was a teenager. He started composing since he was attending the Music Conservatory in Karaj-school. He is influenced by a variety of different music, including hip-hop and more Contemporary art-movements all beyond his interest in Modern music, schools like Futurism. He has already published two independent music albums.

He pursued his passion into music by attending the art-school for fine-arts before attending the Music conservatory in the city of Karaj. He received music instructions from credible musicians, including Afshin Alvavi, Siavash Esmaili, Hesam Jafari, Farhad Ebrahimkhani, Alireza Akbarpour. He has received a few awards for his performance with the ‘Tar’ instrument at least for two consecutive competitions while studying at the art-school. He eventually started studying ‘Audio Technology', at Azad University Central Tehran branch, where he is currently receiving education under the supervision of Reza Sabooni.

He employs creative coding, programming environments and generally the sound technology for making sounds, in case his contribution to this set “Wilt” is composed using Pure Data (A visual and interactive computer music development programming language).

My latest track is an abstract artform of the biblical story David and Goliath. It starts with Guitar being my representation of David. And Bass For Goliath. After that the fight scene as bridge and the overwhelming happyness for the outro. I really enjoy the Moral of the story of facing your fears head on.

When words fade, music speaks!

I appreciate all genre of music which helps me expand my musical horizon and allows me to experience new talents which in turn fuel my own creativity musically.
My music expresses my feelings, my personality and gives an intimate picture of various moments and experiences throughout my life. In truth, my music is my voice and my life story shared though the melody of each of my songs.

++++. PROFILE NOTES ++++

Once a wannabe, not yet a has been.

It had been over a decade since I put together a song,
and for that matter basically walked away from music altogether.
Losing hope that I would ever have the time to put into music again,
I finally gave away my 3rd music studio.
I ran across SoundCloud around 2013,
and thought I might take what few songs I had recorded, 
and lay them to rest there.
And there they languished.

HOWEVER, around 2017 I went back to SoundCloud
and began listening a little more and a little more,
and actively taking a part in visiting the sites
of so many wonderful musicians and beautiful songs.
Also, more and more often I would discover that these artists
were blossoming everywhere around the world,
and most definitely worthy of high praise and compliments.

Then suddenly, these old dead soundtracks right here
began to have a bit of life breathed back into them.
From the kind words that began to come trickling in,
I thought, maybe, someday I might give this music thing a try again.

The thing that finally pushed me into action
was a particular SoundCloud artist…Sander Heerings,

Not only was he encouraging,
but he began faithfully responding to a few questions,
then a barrage of them.

The final result seemed to be that after a couple of months,
the Old Grinder now has a 4th studio and, finally, a new song.
I hope there may be many more to come.

Thank you Sander, and to the multitude that have dropped in
to listen to these old songs, 
and most of all, for perking up my spirits.
