It’s been a year since Matador delivered the incredible Zoles EP but fever pitch anticipation from the techno community is rewarded not once but twice as Ireland’s global powerhouse delivers a slew of new productions that spills over into two packed EPs for Minus! The first wrapping up a stellar 2014 for the label and the second coming out as Spring starts to shine in March 2015.

It’s impossible to pick just one highlight from this 11 track odyssey of trademark Matador mind music. Just like a Matador live set, get locked into the first beat and follow the path right to the end. Enjoy the peaks and swirls and get lost within the beats. Road tested worldwide by the man himself and by Minus godfather Richie Hawtin, this package leaves nothing to chance on the dancefloor. Many Reasons are back on Amazing Records with the first of a series of exclusive EPs on the label: going deep into Techno mode, the guys here deliver two fine examples of contemporary underground music, keeping up with their more experimental and harder side. Title track Cloudy kicks off with an atmospheric intro and flows heavy on low frequencies. Its obsessively acidic and brooding synth line veers into subliminal territory thanks to its upwards spiraling and frequency shiftings crawling through the whole composition. Second cut Utopia is a long journey into a dark tunnel, with quirky percussion patterns and spooky samples that welcome an unrelenting and tough melody during the break, spanning the entire stereo panorama and slinking all over the place.

After years of mainly working on coproductions, Andre Crom started to dive deep into solo studio work in november 2015, and since then has been pretty much obsessed with nothing else. 

These tracks belong to the first results of these endeavours; more will soon follow.

The EP opens with "Jaunde", a detroit-influenced spacy cut, somewhere between techno and house. Building on the foundation of a solid Kick&Sub groove we are welcomed by a deep and hypnotic arp theme, wrapped into warm bass pads and a classic string. A perfect track for the later hours of a set.

"Ritus" is aimed more towards building tension, an energetic syncopated stab lead, demanding claps and a tight groove build towards an epic breakdown, before a warm pads gives resolve.

"Momentum" is clearly the peaktime cut of the package, built around driving percussions and an intense arp lead.

Charlotte De Witte, one of Belgium's most promising newcomers and known from several EP's on Turbo, makes her OFF debut with a remix of Jaunde, taking things into a more linear and darker direction.

Next up on Nicole Moudaber's influential imprint is a fresh EP from one of Techno’s most esteemed artists Joel Mull.

Joel told us "Joshua Tree has been on the bucket list since i saw the cover of U2 album with the same name. I had the opportunity to visit California and the National Park Joshua Tree last year in March. This track is named after and inspired by that experience. I can really recommend to go a there to visit.” 

I'm sure you'll all agree, he must have had a pumping experience out there to make this beauty.

With track number one of our compilation, 'Alive', Piemont deliver a tech house bomb just as ex-pected. The two guys create a fantastic build-up and let it explode afterwards. Everything is accom-panied by groovy arp sequences and flying vocal pieces.
When the bassline of 'Shah Parvaz' by fran&co comes in, it just makes you get up and dance. Short-ly after an intense break with hypnotic vocals comes in and creates tension. A captivating synth se-quence accompanies the track and finally oriental flute sounds come in, turning this piece into some-thing really unique.
'Mutation' by Hermanez gives us different percussive sounds swirling around the room. Additional-ly, a shuffling 16th beat and modulating synth sounds make this wonderfully spacy track sound very alive and energetic.
Matchy & Bott bring in the 'Luvvibe', starting with a forward-driven bassline, powerful snares, claps and shakers. A short female vocal sequence with a lot of space marks the central element of this beautiful melancholic composition.
The track name 'So Strong' is right on the spot for the contribution of Andlee & Kollektiv KlangGut. A bass which is housy and dark at the same time and a hypnotic vocal turn this music piece into a real dance floor killer. Forward-pushing hi-hats coming in in the middle making it even more driving and ravy.

In what’s become an annual tradition; Gregor Tresher and Petar Dundov have joined forces for another timeless tech dispatch. It’s been this way since their first collaborative foray ‘Duo Tone’ in 2011 and the results are always incredible. 

This one is particularly special… After years of releasing their collaborations on Music Man, Cocoon and Gregor’s Break New Soil, ‘Metamorphing’ is the superconductors’ debut on Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD and comes in hot pursuit of Nicole’s epic 12 minute revision of Gregor’s ‘Quiet Distortion’ earlier this year. 

We kick off with ‚Sphinx’, where a mammoth rolling drum arrangement carries an evocative riff deep into a mystic breakdown before firing it back out with an additional hook that has already been driving dancefloors insane in Gregor, Petar and Nicole’s sets throughout the summer.

‘Silo’ presents a somewhat haunted theme as echoed chimes shimmer over a deep penetrative groove rising and rising to a destination that only comes into view once you’re past the point of frenzied return. 

Finally we hit ‘Metamorphing’, a track perfectly tailored to MOOD’s dark shadowy signature; a complex weave of cosmocity, a sneaking arpeggio weaves and mutates with a fluidity that sucks you right in and refuses to let you go.
