I particularly like Felipe for the constant quality of his multiple productions, the depth, the sensitivity, his touches of jazz without forgetting the unstoppable sense of groove with even a touch of acid. Jon Sable joins us this round for an hour long journey into his world of deep and jazzy house sounds. Growing up in Auckland, New Zealand, he fell in love with music of this variety while driving from beach to beach, bumping mixtapes. Around the same time, he met Ben and Louis Helliker-Hales of Chaos In The CBD and began exploring production methods. A few years ago, Jon made the jump across the pond to NYC, where he cut his teeth playing out in bars and clubs and selling wax behind the counter at Turntable Lab. Shortly after, he made the move to London where he’s now set up a slew of forthcoming releases with labels like Tief Music and Banoffee Pies. On top of this, he’s put together his own imprint ‘In Dust We Trust’ co-founding the label with Ben and Louis as they take turns pressing up moody and melodic mid-tempo jammers of their own. The most recent release, Accidental Meetings EP, sold out almost immediately. As a growing audience waits for more, we’ve rung up Jon for a sampling of his DJing, as well as answers to some questions below.

Following the recent release of their acclaimed debut album and latest conceptual project, ÎIe de Rêve, Private Agenda will shortly release The Space Between Swells, an accompaniment to that project and a collaborative EP in which Mark Barrott and Max Essa have been invited to re-imagine two of the release’s original compositions, Aura and Sea Life.

Born in Chicago but raised in Detroit, The Living
Legend Alton Miller joins Roots Underground
for his eighth vinyl release, and he does it in the
usual stylish way that has always distinguished
him in his nearly 30-years career.

From the Future is an EP composed of 3 tracks denoted
by arrangements decidedly more electronic than its latest
productions. It opens with Crossing (A), an irresistible club
tool of over 9 minutes with a “deep & techy” atmosphere
and poisonous breaks that leads us on a warm and
hypnotic trip immediately showing us the most dancefloor
and synthetic side of this prolific Afro-american producer.
The B Side starts with The World needs Love (B1).
Spiritual house music, ethereal keyboards, impending arpeggios and a vocal sample that adds a certain emotion
to the track, in addition to naming it: 8 minutes of pure
Miller’s style. 
Brooklyn (B2) closes the B side with its
rhythm full of latin percussions and sounds that remind
to early NYC house music, without being nostalgic and
making that same feeling relevant to the current scene.
The graphic design of this EP is consistent with the new
style of the label, opened with Lorenzo Morresi’s EP
(RU007V), and this time it features the suggestive Greenstone
(Chrolastrolite) of the State of Michigan.
