Vanishing Standards returns with 15 exclusive tracks by Amek regulars and a very special selection of guests. The new volume of what has now grown into a compilation series, aims at revealing new and exciting works by our expanded family of artists thus the epic tracklist, spanning over 80 minutes of music in a plethora of contemporary experimental music genres. Vanishing Standards II collects works from debuting projects and unexpected collaborations, as well as a few remix and cover versions. Vanishing Standards II is also the biggest tape run Amek has ever dared to publish.

Overcast Sound feat. Jenny Mayem - Settle.

Settle is the lead off single from the upcoming album "All We Know Fades". The original version of the track is a collaboration between Overcast Sound and Canadian singer / songwritter Jenny Mayhem (www.jennymayhem.ca) - creating a slow burning, emotive track highlighting Jenny's fantastic vocals.

For the single release, the track was handed to five artists for their take on the track. The results show five unique pieces, creating a diverse and engaging package of music.

With these five new pieces, Tigerskin, completely unperturbed by current trends, goes his own way. Here, sampling and analog synthesizer sounds are on equal footing with acoustic key and string instruments combined with various sounds of nature. The titles propagate deepness, are quite danceable but not compulsively club-oriented, sometimes pop shines through, sometimes jazzy deep house, always euphoria, melancholy, but never uniformity. 

All Tracks were beautifully mixed by Stefan Janson and mastered by Salz-Mastering.

This mix was recorded at Institut für Zukunft in Leipzig, where we played a four hour opening set. We made some small edits and added some tracks to finalise the mix. There is a magic about playing opening sets, and this night was special in particular — the lights got turned off and we played our first ambient track as a tuft of smoke was blown into club, which remained midair in the middle of the dance floor, like a sculpture — and it slowly vanished. The first guest came in and sat down against the concrete column, listening attentively as more smoke-sculptures formed around him. We were happy to play the first 20 minutes just for him.
