It was an honour to invite London born, Leeds-based, Kessie to our radio show after a serious 12 months which has seen her booked at Fold, Berghain, and many more of Europe’s most prestigious clubs and festivals.

As a proud parent and resident of NARR Radio and monthly queer night Love Muscle, Kessie’s techno tends towards the looping and the cerebral: a marriage of the hypnotic and the driving very few can effectively deliver. 

Being hard of hearing, Kessie’s relationship with audio is an especially physical, vibrational one, and her selections reflects this. Blistering kicks and sonic bleeps are integral building blocks, as are the intricate, sleazy mixes equally audible when she does bend the tempo and showcases her ear for bass, jungle, EBM, post punk, grunge, ambient.

D’Marc Cantu (Nation, MOS, Crème / US)

D'Marc Cantu or DMC as he is sometimes known, started working on Acid house in 2000 after meeting fellow artist James T. Cotton (JTC). By melding his love of Acid house, experimental noise and his background in percussion he quickly started creating what would later be coined as "Jakbeat". 

In 2005 Cantu and JTC formed 2Am/Fm releasing 3 floor banging albums and several songs on Ghostly International’s sister label Spectral. In 2006 he teamed up with Traxx & JTC to create X2, releasing Primitive Cypher on Relief Records from Chicago. 

Since 2006 he has worked on MOS and Crème Organization making numerous Detroit and Chicago inspired tracks.

German born and based Markus has been producing and DJing for over a decade and a half. As a DJ he likes to take on the role of a storyteller, preferring the longer variety of a set if he can choose. His career is built on excitement and playfulness, both as a DJ and producer, something that has paid off into becoming a considerable back catalogue. With his first production being released in 2009, a discography of over 30 records is now linked to his name – including two full length solo albums; DNA (Figure) and Resist (EXILE) released in 2013 and 2017 respectively.

A quick right down some grim alleyway, and there it was — Moog. From the outside, nothing more than rotting stucco, a small congregation of degenerates and random gypsies selling cans of beer. We paid the fare for entrance, descended into the seizure inciting strobes, and ultimately discovered an acid haven that any techno fan would have crowned king"
