@kessell is the alter ego of Valentin Corujo, half of the Exium duo and Polegroup member, this is his solo project where he explores the most liquid of his sonic palette. Granulart Recordings is his new label, physical/digital label focused on the deepest side of techno with dub, classic Detroit sound and 90´s techno influences, designed both to release his own stuff as well as music from artists that fit the philosophy of the label. A label where precision and musicality occur hand in hand with the intention of creating timeless pieces, outside the passage of time, sounds you can enjoy as a delicatessen over the years.

A key figure in Russian techno community, Nastia Reigel started out by organizing illegal dance parties in Siberia. That tenacity and dedication later found her in Saint Petersburg, where she launched the first-ever queer parties in the city called Грань (Grahn’), the notoriety of which was soon featured in DAZED. She spent years accumulating mixing techniques and selection skills that have given her a unique voice as a musician and a DJ, along with a busy touring schedule in Russia, Europe, Australia, and North and South America.

Nastia's obsession with achieving deeper understanding of electronic music, modern art and constant development of techno sound finds its reflection in her mixes and production. Her vinyl releases 'Trust, Intimacy' and 'Disarm To Surrender' on Enemy Records demonstrate a perfect balance of artistic taste, technical ability and has already garnered support from established techno musicians. In April 2020 Nastia makes her debut on TOKEN Records.   

As a multidisciplinary artist, Nastia has written music for several art-house films, which has broadened her scope as a musician well beyond techno, to various other experimental audio and visual projects. One of them is her post-punk alias Rosa Damask that first appeared on Vatican Shadow’s Berghain Mix 09; soon after, she released an album on his widely revered Hospital Productions label.

Dirty Epic welcomes @tensal for it's fiftieth episode of Amplify Series. 

Tensal is the name of the solo project that Héctor Sandoval (50% of Exium, Komatssu, Selección Natural) has created to accommodate his more cyclical and modern vision of Techno in which he combines different rhythms and textures.
After a good handful of works released on his own label, he has released on some of the best Techno labels as Mord, Modularz, Arcing Seas, Polegroup (of which he is a founding member), Float, Kynant, A.R.T.S, Cabrera or Soma, where he released his first LP in 2018.
He has also collaborated on a multitude of remixes with artists such as Slam, Electric Indigo, Envoy, Umwelt, Mike Parker, Pangaea, Amotik, Pessimist or Shifted, among others.
His works have received the unanimous support of the scene and his tracks are play by DJs like Jeff Mills, Richie Hawtin, Dave Clarke, Marcel Dettman, Ben Klock, Ellen Allien, L. Garnier, Dubfire, Seth Troxler or DVS1 who are regular consumers of his tracks.

In his appearances as a DJ, Tensal explores all facets of techno based on alternating different textures and intensities that are mainly nourished by his own material which has led him to perform in more than 60 countries in different parts of the world, from South America, to Japan, through the US, China, Georgia, Turkey, Korea or Russia, and of course Europe, where he is a regular in the booths of Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Croatia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
In 2020 he created the project Komando Terrorismo Sonico (K.T.S) together with Juan Rico (Reeko, Architectural) in which they explore the limits of Acid techno and Breakbeat. The first studio album of the duo, called "Insurrección" was released by Tensal Ltd recs in spring 2021.

In February 2022, the latest project by Héctor Sandoval called "Syndromania" will be launched, debuting on Hector Oaks' label, with "Sacrilegio". This is a project created to investigate the fusion of the most contemporary Techno with some of its most popular genres of the last decades such as Techno-Trance, EBM, Electro, Acid or Chicago House.

Joton is from the underground class, an example of effort, dedication, and support to the rest. Definitely and constantly going further.

We share a mighty 3.5 hours with which he pleased the latest @alteregoclub-mad  night and Newrhythmic Showcase. Special mention also goes to this conceptual organization, which frequently receives renowned artists from the scene. Don't lose sight of AlterEgo if you want to enjoy it!

▸ JOTON:
The Spanish Underground electronic scene would not be the same without Jotón, a respected DJ and producer who has been dignifying his profession and designing unconventional sounds for more than 20 years. From his studio in the city of León, he has managed to create his own style based on the most orthodox Techno which has been imitated by artists from all over the world. He is also the founder of the label Newrhythmic, with which he has supported national and international artists for more than 2 decades.

Joton is a tireless and prolific creator. His work has been published by labels as important as Fabric, Modularz, Quartz, Odd Even, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Raw Raw, Dynamic Reflection or Skryptöm. Furthermore, his work has been played by artists such as Ben Klock, Dvs1, Rodhad, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Oscar Mulero, Surgeon, Truncate or Go Hiyama.

In 2015 he released his first album ‘Casting Out Nines’, a work that received excellent reviews from the specialized press and conquered Techno lovers. ‘Casting Out Nines’ was undoubtedly one of the best albums of that year and moreover, it was presented in 10 countries in 3 different continents.

2017 saw the release of his second major project, ‘R3silient’, in which Jotón delved into his purest and most analogue side, and thanks to which returned to the roots of Techno. In 2018 he releases two new works, `Antioquia ́ on German label ODD EVEN and `Extreme Mesures ́ on RAW RAW.

Jotón complements his DJ/Producer facet with teaching. His Production Courses are interactive experiences in which the student gets to perfect his technique and shape his sound. His latest album `Hikikomori ́ was born from these courses in 2021. `Hikikomori ́ could be defined as a collaborative work with students and friends that narrates the experience of isolation produced by the pandemic.

Jotón has been a protagonist in the booths of some of the best clubs in the world. Temples such as Under club (Buenos Aires), Tresor (Berlin), Vault Sessions (Amsterdam), Rex club and Le Batofar (Paris), Corsica Studios (London), Grelle Forelle (Vienna), Propaganda (Moscow), Domunne (Tokyo), Vurt (Seoul), Liquid Club (Malta), Gare (Porto), Razzmatazz and Moog (Barcelona), Stardust and Fabrik (Madrid) , Tunnel (Pareira) and many more.

FOLD/UNFOLD resident & EarToGround Records owner Gareth Wild cut his teeth into London’s underground culture over 20 years ago.

With an extensive production catalogue to complement his accomplished DJ ability, Wild has released on legendary labels including Soma, Projekts, FOLD Records and his own label imprint EarToGround. 

Gareth’s story begun in 1992 during the early years of Jungle. By 94 he had developed a very strong addiction to vinyl and London’s underground rave culture. As the years progressed his musical tastes developed to Techno a genre he defiantly pushes in the constant face of adversity.

FOLD, Tresor, fabric and Corsica Studios are a few of the many clubs he has demonstrated his ability, energy and full dynamic range.

Alrededor de 1992 The Event 7 comenzó a ir a bailar en los clubes más importantes de Madrid,nombres como New World, Zentral , Overdrive , Consulado, The Omen...
Al mismo tiempo , comenzó a comprar música y consigue sus primeros platos Technics alrededor de 1993, y comienza a pinchar en pequeños clubs y yendo a fiestas para ver los dj·s más relevantes en la escena.
Fue a finales de 1997 cuando comienza a tratar de producir música electrónica con ordenador, software y hardware. Cuando se inició el proyecto . :::::::: The Event 7.
En 2003 comienza a trabajar para Jaxx Records, y fue en 2004 cuando lanza Infecta 01 Driving Again Ep.Primera referencia en su propio sello Infecta , con buenos nombres y colaboraciones en todo su catálogo .
Al mismo tiempo, y a partir de 1998 se inicia la empresa Drivers,haciendo trabajos como road manager con artistas relevantes , nombres tal Oliver Ho , Mark Broom , Oscar Mulero , Claude Young, Surgeon , James Ruskin, Sven Vath , Dave Clarke , Bas Mooy , etc ..
Esto le ayuda a conseguir más reconocimiento musical y cultural del interior de la Industria.
En 2007 continúa trabajando en Jaxx Records, lanzando 10 tracks  en diferentes sellos  y colaboraciones y gestionando diversas fechas de los clubes y promotores  mas importantes de toda España , TechnoFlash , Zeus , M2, Womad , Matrixx , Extretech , Tech Summer , Rxxistance , Fabrik , etc ..
Ahora en 2014 está trabajando en sus propios proyectos Deltabookings . Nueva agencia de dj de techno con algunos de los mejores djs y productores de España de los últimos 20 años.
Dj sets, producción, conducción y gestión de eventos, todo por el desarrollo de la escena de la música electrónica en España y tratando de difundir el artista español en el mundo.

José María Álvarez del Real aka DJ Pepo es uno de los djs que más ha influído en la cultura musical de la época moderna de nuestro país. Es un auténtico referente de la música electrónica actual, que tan rápido está evolucionando pero que, allá por 1990, cuando la mayoría de la gente se preguntaba de donde provenían esos sonidos, Pepo ya estaba pinchando en los mejores clubs de Madrid.
En sus más de 25 años de carrera ha pasado por una amplia variedad musical. Ha pinchado desde funky, hasta house, pasando por jazz. Sus grandes influencias provienen de artistas como Front 242 u Orbital, con los que ha actuado en varias ocasiones. Todo esto ha convertido a Pepo en un dj muy polivalente, con muchas tendencias, que ha pasado por muchas épocas y que en la actualidad se centra en la vertiente más dura del techno: el hard techno.
Hoy en día es uno de los djs mejor cotizados de la escena techno española. Se caracteriza por ser eléctrico por naturaleza, con sets que llenan de ritmo y contundencia las cabinas, llegando al público al instante con su forma viva y deslumbrante de mezclar. Es una bomba de relojería en forma de música que baña los sentidos, haciendo de cualquier evento por el que pasa una ocasión para escuchar matices electrizantes y maniobras inesperadas.
Sus comienzos datan de 1987/88. A principios de los años 90 ya pinchaba en los mejores y más vanguardistas clubs de Madrid. Destacan su paso por Saratoga, Attica, New World o Van Vas, sitios muy relevantes en su carrera y que hacen que Pepo empiece a adquirir un nombre importante a nivel nacional. Es precisamente en Attica, club mítico de la capital, donde empieza a decantarse por el techno como estilo de música a pinchar, aunque no como el estilo actual, sino algo más oscuro y siniestro.
A partir del año 98, la carrera de Pepo alcanza sus cotas más altas a nivel nacional convirtiéndose en el dj más popular de la zona norte y con visitas frecuentes a los mejores clubes de España como La Real o TechnoFlash. También los mejores festivales musicales cuentan con Pepo de forma anual: Festimad, Festidance, Aquasella, etc...Además ha pinchado en lugares de toda Europa, como: Italia, Hungría, República Checa, Eslovaquia o Portugal.
Su primer contacto con la producción musical data de 1995, donde realiza una colaboración para el sello Explorer de un tema llamado Indignao. Desde ese momento se empieza a gestar en Pepo una inquietud por plasmar sus sentimientos en el plástico, creando en el año 2000 junto a su hermano Angel ADR dos sellos, CPU y Hunter, que encierran lo que Pepo cree que es la verdadera cultura techno como música, y como estilo de vida. Un estilo alejado de lo comercial y centrado en el gusto por las nuevas tendencias sonoras obteniendo un producto puro, limpio y libre de intoxicaciones externas.

Empieza su andadura como Dj de Discotecas entre los años 1985-86 empezando a pinchar en sitos donde le dejaban de esa época... en la zona de Madrid y alrededores. Durante los años 93' 94' y 95' es ya cuando se lanza al mercado como Dj Profesional metiéndose de lleno en el Mundo de la Electrónica y siendo residente de una de las salas con más nombre de "La Co...sta Marrón" llamada Revolcón [Alcorcón-Madrid]. Es ahí donde empieza a hacer ya sus primeros bolos por todo el Territorio Nacional [Discotecas, Festivales, etc...] y parte del Extranjero, teniendo en cuenta su participación en 1998 en el Kosmo LbelNight.Love Parade [Alemania].
Podemos destacar de él, su depurada y siempre innovadora técnica de improvisación a la hora de ponerse frente a los platos con sus Vinilos más queridos. Da igual el estilo que se precie, House, Techno, Chicago, Detroit... siempre te hará ver la sesión de una manera distinta a cualquier otro Dj'.
Con sus 16 años de experiencia en cabinas y tras los platos, y su colección de más de 20.000 Vinilos de infinidad de estilos... Clemente Sanchez aka. Máster Bon Z, se avala a si mismo junto a Cuna Records Shop: El Club del Vinilo "privado" de Madrid de quien es dueño y señor y donde puedes encontrar toda la Música Electrónica y de baile del momento.

Corre el año 1981, un chaval de once años recibe un regalo, el nuevo single de Depeche Mode, New Life, desde ese preciso momento, los fríos sonidos de las cajas de ritmos y los sonidos alienígenas de los sintetizadores forman parte de la banda sonora de su vida, hasta hoy.

Viviendo los ochenta en plena adolescencia, absorbe cualquier sonido futurista y oscuro como devoto fan, sonidos new wave, grupos góticos, EBM primigenia o clásicos como Kraftwerk y Tangerine Dream.


1987 marca el cambio de actitud, de consumidor a productor, consigue su primer sintetizador de segunda mano, un Kawai Sx 240 que aún conserva y una pequeña caja de ritmos Korg Kpr 77 y comienza a crear sus propios sonidos y ritmos desde cero. Muy pronto forma su primer proyecto musical, Ballet Mecánico junto a Groof y Daniel Erbe.


Fuertemente influenciado por el pop sintético en sus comienzos, su sonido se mueve pronto hacia nuevos y oscuros territorios tras el descubrimiento de Front 242 y Nitzer Ebb, desplazándose poco después hacia los primeros sonidos Rave de la mano del álbum Frequencies de LFO o el Yellow Album de Orbital, interesándose también por el sonido proveniente de las primeras recopilaciones del sonido Detroit editadas en Gran Bretaña por el sello Network, Bio Rhythm o Retro Techno entre otras. El proyecto Ballet Mecánico durará hasta 1994, dejando como legado dos vinilos editados, muchas actuaciones en directo y varias maquetas de culto.


1995 será el año del inicio de su carrera en solitario como Hd Substance, editando el tema Past Line en el recopilatorio Electronic Generators en el sello Geometrik, etiqueta de culto propiedad de Esplendor Geométrico, una colección imprescindible para entender los comienzos de la electrónica en nuestro país, con artistas como, The Frogmen, Madelman, Alex Martín, Resonic o Jumo ( actuales organizadores del festival Sonar ).


Un año después ve la luz su primer álbum completo, Eleven, el sello también de culto Elefant Records y se realiza su primera actuación en Sonar 1996.


2014 tras más de veinte años formando parte activa de la escena electrónica mundial más de 30 Ep’s editados en sellos de todo el mundo, seis álbumes y actuaciones en los cinco continentes, Hd Substance permanece como figura de referencia de la escena techno española, desde todos los frentes, creando, pinchando y escribiendo sobre música electrónica en todo su abanico estilístico, una vida entera dedicada por y para la música

Hd Substance es Luis Rozalén, uno de los personajes más prolíficos de la escena techno española en sus facetas como Dj, músico y periodista.

Archaic Podcast 16 - HD Substance

Luis Cantalapiedra Vázquez comenzó a pinchar a finales de los años 80 bajo el conocido seudónimo de Dj Muerto. En aquellos años ya supo elegir lo mejor que ofrecía la música electrónica para crear sus sesiones, con las que siempre ha transmitido un gusto muy personal, sin distinción de épocas ni etiquetas. Desde 1993 hasta casi el final de esa década fue Dj residente y promotor para la sala Voltereta, escribiendo así su primera página en la historia del techno nacional.
A partir de la década de los 90 Dj Muerto se dio a conocer gracias a sus sets de techno. Sin olvidar el buen trabajo desarrollado como parte de Dark Archives Collective, -durante los primeros años del nuevo milenio- para dar a conocer el mejor Drum’n’Bass y sus variantes (como el soulful o los Broken Beats). En esta etapa crea Altered State, junto a Óscar Mulero, Pitch y Focus. Esta sesión para las noches de los jueves en Madrid, estaba dedicada exclusivamente a explorar y difundir el sonido Drum’n’Bass en todas sus formas.
PRODUCTOR
Su labor como productor, desarrollada sobre todo a partir de los últimos años de la década de los 90, es la otra cara creativa de Luis. En 2007 estrenó la primera referencia del sello Minuendo Electrónico bajo su nuevo proyecto musical Arcanoid. Aunque ya antes había participado antes en recopilatorios o había remezclado a grupos como Mojo Project. 
Desde entonces, bajo el nombre de Arcanoid, ha publicado numerosas referencias en diferentes sellos ajenos, e incluso en los suyos propios.

Publicados en Semantica Records (www.semanticarecords.com). Este sello madrileño, creado en 2007, está dedicado al Techno y al sonido IDM. En él, Arcanoid tiene de momento dos referencias.

En este apartado destaca su actividad en Zero Oscillator. Este sello, creado junto a Óscar Mulero en un principio y al que más tarde se unió Miguel Mendoza y Boris Divider, nace en 2007. Está dedicado a la música Techno, Electro y Electrónica. En 2008 salía su primera referencia con temas de sus cuatro promotores:

As a live performer, he is appearing around the world under his own name, as part of Polar Inertia and with his compatriots Zadig, Birth Of Frequency and Antigone as Unforeseen Alliance.
Recorded at Bassiani Records launching night in Tbilisi, the thrilling live-set sees the Parisian producer engage in an hour of intense, mind-bending analogue techno. With his unique artistic approach Voiski is exploring the darkest and deeper ends of raw, pulsating techno throughout the mix.

Bassiani invites Voiski [Live] / Podcast #33

Anthony Linell was formerly known as Abdulla Rashim, the centre piece of a Stockholm techno collective who have been at the sharp end of the scene for the last few years. Mixing up club grooves with exploratory experimental music, the intriguing and mysterious artist runs the Northern Electronics label and, at the same time, put out much of his own music on his Abdulla Rashim Records. A master of atmosphere and hypnotic grooves that cannot fail to suck you in, this year alone has seen him put out two albums and an EP under his real name. The sounds are just as absorbing as always, and mix up dark ambiance with dungeon synth and desolate sonic landscapes. 

All this carries over into his DJ work, and the mix he has served up for us here is a beautifully bleak and lonely one. Underpinned by slick rubbery drums and detailed with everything from funeral to sci-fi to subliminal synths, it’s an intriguing musical rabbit hole that gets weirder and more unreal the further down it you go.
