I wanted to give you guys my craziest mix yet.  I'm back on Diplo & Friends.  No genres, just an hour of the most insane music.

One third of the tracks in this mix are completely UNRELEASED.  New music and exclusives in this mix from DJ Snake, Dillon Francis, Diplo, Kill The Noise, GTA, Bro Safari & ETC!ETC!, Ookay, Autoerotique and of course from myself as well.

Probably spent too much time on this but i needed my own exclusive version of Skrill's Red Lips remix. So this is the Red Lips remix sped up to 95bpm, chopped up, rearranged and loc'd out with various beat warps applied, built a nice intro and to switch it up some more i flip flopped the first and second drops and then took YOOK!E's chops from their Scary Monsters edit and laced it into the first drop.

El Moombahton es una fusión de la música house, (especialmente el electro house) con el reggaeton. El término moombahton fue acuñado por el DJ y productor Dave Nada (nacido David Villegas) en el 2009 haciendo referencia a la canción "Moombah" del DJ Chuckie, y "ton" por reggaeton.

Se caracteriza por líneas de bajo amplias, build-ups dramáticos, un "beat" de dos pulsos, samples de rapeo acapella y a veces sintetizadores pesados y con un estilo rave. Normalmente tiene un BPM de entre 108 y 128 BPM (A veces llega a 140 BPM). Describen al moombahton como la cruza entre el dutch house y el reggaeton, el dutch house fue popular durante el 2009 y tiene una estructura 4/4 (four-on-the-floor) común en otros estilos de música electrónica y pesados pulsos de bajo en cada medida de beat y tempo de 130 BPM y como esta derivado de la música house tiene largos builds y en el drop tiene "pinchazos" electro que suben y bajan en el espectro de sonido. También toma elementos del reggaeton el cuál es popular en la cultura latina y es una mezcla del reggae, dancehall y soca con rap en español y tiene un tempo menor de 108 BPM.

Dave Nada creó el subgénero en el 2009 cuando se presentó como DJ en una fiesta para su primo en Washington D. C. y uso la canción "Moombah" de Chuckie y Silvio Ecomo (Afrojack Remix) y la alentó de 128 BPM a 108 BPM creando la base del género y después le añadió elementos del dancehall, música latina y reggaeton. A diferencia de otros géneros este rápidamente se volvió más popular internacionalmente, especialmente en los festivales de música electrónica de baile y también en la plataforma de música soundcloud, donde los artistas empezaron a publicar canciones o remixes de éste género.

Mucho antes de que surgiera el término "Moombahton" ya se había fusionado elementos de la música electrónica de baile con la música latina (por ejemplo el latin house) especialmente dancehall/reggae/reggaeton.

Actualmente este género también esta alcanzado popularidad uno de los exponentes de éste son los DJs Dillon Francis y Diplo y el proyecto creado por este Major Lazer. Actualmente también se ha fusionado el tempo y la percusión del moombahton con los distorsionados sonidos del dubstep moderno generando el "Moombahcore". A su vez también se combinado elementos del moombahton con las producciones electrónicas del trap creando el "Trapahton".
