To The Sky

The emptiness of sky is ours 
Far from earth's inherent scars
Alone we float, we soar, we dive
Free and never more alive
To fly with everlasting grace
Until we find our resting place

The haze of blue beneath our wings
Exhilaration to us brings
Where sea and sky merge into one
And troubles melt into the sun

With dreams entangled as we fly
Reaching for the endless sky

Onward, upward, never tiring
Constantly the earth inspiring
Light and yearning softly feathered 
Hopes within our heartbeat tethered
On the wind we freely wheel
No words can reach the depth we feel
Like mountains high and valleys deep
No borders for our senses keep
No creature on this earth can hold
The wisdom that lies here untold
Always searching for the truth
Obscured by vanity and youth
Yet high above the distant land 
One life is but a grain of sand
And to the ocean we'll return
When destiny and fate discern
The time our spirits leave the shore 
Eternally to fly once more

Here in everlasting grace
The summit of our resting place

For now we float, we soar, we dive
Free and never more alive

And as the sun sinks in the west
We know that we are truly blessed
Gliding far across the sea
Our hearts will live forever free

We've had a few delays in finishing this collaboration, due to other commitments, and then found we could not decide which version to post here!  So we agreed to upload two different versions - one on each of our pages.  

The two versions are our personal creative interpretations, so we hope you will listen to and enjoy both!  It's not a competition, so please just sit back, close your eyes and fly away ...
