The title of Max Cooper’s “Stochastisch Serie” EP, refers to his use of stochastic methods, also known as non-deterministic, or random methods of sound generation. Stochastic elements referring here mainly to real sounds including vocal experiments and sampled sounds which create a complexity and richness which has been a trademark of many well known Traum releases in the past.

The London based artist Max Cooper sees his new 12" as a construction of different moods going beyond club music, as witnessed in the past through tracks such as “i” and “End of Reason”. It is no surprise that “Dischordance” is another one of these timeless pearls alongside these mentioned tracks that have created a fan base worldwide for him. The friction Max generates is created by two sides colliding, the synthesised drums and melodies and the random experiments with voice. His dance floor rockers “Stochastisch Serie” and “Mnemonic” work in a much more functional way but do include bits of this randomness and therefore are part of the superstructure “Stochastisch Serie”.

The remix of UK producer Leeks is very hip in style and sound and will please a lot of younger DJs who love the cool swing and groovyness with music and will find the functionlism here going very strong. Microtrauma from Germany turn the track upside down in their remix, taking out the elements that create the tension and incorporating them in their subtle beat, creating a steady flow of deep music

Three years have passed since the last Moon Harbour Inhouse Compilation came out. Now “Moon Harbour Inhouse Vol.4” is on its way. In accordance with the tried and tested concept, this release also showcases the work of current Moon Harbour artists. In addition to exclusive tracks by Matthias Tanzmann, Luna City Express, Dan Drastic, Ekkohaus, Martinez, Italoboyz, Andy Catana and Blind Minded, special guests like Reboot, Guido Schneider, Boris Werner and tINI & Marc Antona are also represented on this compilation. The list of artists clearly demonstrates that Moon Harbour has developed into a label with international scope and appeal. This sampler was compiled and mixed by Dan Drastic, who has been part of Moon Harbour’s artist roster for more than seven years and recently released his “Noodle Stories EP” on our label. He regularly hosts the Moon Harbour Nights at the Leipzig club Distillery and is one of the most active Moon Harbour deejays, together with Matthias Tanzmann and Luna City Express.  

The musical styles on “Moon Harbour Inhouse Vol. 4” range from the deep house of Luna City Express and Ekkohaus to the reduced groovy tech house á la tINI & Marc Antona, Andy Catana and Boris Werner and the floor fillers by Reboot and Dan Drastic. In this sense the selection of tracks mirrors the current breadth of styles represented by the label in its 12th year.     

Since the third Inhouse Compilation, a lot has happened at Moon Harbour. In addition to the releases of the albums “Hello From Planet Earth” by Luna City Express (2009) and “Paradigm Shift” by Martinez (2010), the tenth anniversary of the label was celebrated with gusto in 2010 complete with the compilation and club tour, “Ten Years Of Moon Harbour”. The year 2010 also marked the birth of the monthly Moon Harbour Radio Show. Luna City Express and Dan Drastic have been taking turns producing this show, which has already had more than 25 editions.         

The year 2011 marked another special occasion: our sister label Cargo Edition celebrated its fifth anniversary with the compilation “Five Years Of Cargo Edition”. In the summer of 2011, Moon Harbour released the compilation CD “Circoloco @ DC10 Ibiza - The Next Level”, mixed by Matthias Tanzmann and Davide Squillace. This year started off with yet another important step: the launch of Moon Harbour Digital. So far this new digital platform has seen releases by Arado & Marco Faraone, ONNO and Nil By Mouth.   
To celebrate the release of “Moon Harbour Inhouse Vol.4”, there will be numerous record release showcases.

It’s the pre-squeeze leading up to the big release. Mobilee presents this double-track treat on both vinyl and digital. 

The A-side tears it up with „Hartwood“, Rodriguez Jr.’s biggest hit to date. With a series of alternating and repetitive keyboard strokes and soulful lyrics bouncing on a thick velvet cushion of rich background base, this number is guaranteed to appeal to the industry’s most respected players. Already landing on the hard drives of Pete Tong, Laurent Garnier and Simian Mobile Disco “Hartwood” has gained a bit of airtime as loyal listeners burn for the final release date.

The B-side features Anja Schneider with a full out female power vocal number ironically titled, “Henry & Lars”. This track takes form from a very cuddly story that took place at BPM Festival in Mexico as Anja’s little guy and a stuffed animal named “Lars” found love and friendship in a little girl and her stuffed-animal she called “Henry”. And so the story went on…

The two outstanding tracks leading up the 7th mobilee back to back compilation on April 5th is just the tip of the iceberg! Look out for another digital release „mobilee back to back part 2“ before the back to back hits online stores and shelve.
