- likeminded - is not like the common, genre-specific labels as we know them all too well, not another imprint that’s dropping hardly distinguishable productions every week. The basic principle coming to effect in this venture would be called ‘laissez-faire’ in its mother tongue. 
 
It’s not just one particular style of music to be released here, but rather all sorts of high class productions. likeminded offers a home for everything that represents the different tempers of the contributing producers and stands for diversity, as we believe in total artistic liberty.

The name says it all: Acid Bitchez. Remixed by Jori Hulkkonen, General Ludd, Zia and Joeski.

No one knows acid quite like Jori Hulkkonen, as his EPs on Turbo and tracks with Jesper Dahlback as Kebacid will prove.  The Finnish super-producer has released more records than we can count and is also one of electronic music’s most interesting live performers, most recently as Tiga’s right-hand on his long-awaited and acclaimed debut live tour, but most relevantly as conductor of the Acid Symphony Orchestra which happened to include JuhalJohnny as one of the black-tie wearing 303-knob twiddler. After relocating from Finland to LA, Juha teamed up with lyrical miracle JessicalJessika to become ACID BITCHEZ and here we are… 

Jori did a killer remix which Tiga  has been hammering in his DJ sets, as well as on his Paranoid-London centric mix for RA. Rounding out the package are mixes from Glasgow’s General Ludd, hot off releases on Mister Saturday Night and Ten Thousand Yen, old-school NY legend Joeski, and recent Turbo discovery Zia.

Following collaborations on Cuttin’ Headz and Leftroom, New York’s Jesse Calosso & Jean Pierre team up again for two rhythmic house cuts entitled ‘Feel Good’ on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax imprint.

Debuting on Seth Troxler & The Martinez Bros’ Tuskegee, Jesse Calosso has enjoyed a meteoric rise with regular releases on Cuttin’ Headz. Meanwhile, Jean Pierre – a selector at Brooklyn’s Halcyon - has appeared on labels like Desolat, Leftroom and Deeperfect. Together they are two of the most exciting names to emerge out of New York’s thriving club scene, with Calosso having DJed at venues like fabric and Panorama Bar, whilst Pierre has performed at Amnesia, Space Ibiza New York, Output, and Sankeys Ibiza.

Kicking into action, ‘Feel Good’ is a high-octane production with thudding percussion, distant vocals and a fluttering low-end. Meanwhile, ‘Mad Dawg’ features a low slung groove with its stomping kicks, echoing snares and moody bassline. Both tracks are geared with the dancefloor in mind and represent the creative minds of two producers with musical knowledge above their years.

Sven Tasnadi, David Jach - Nothing

Independent label NEED Music serves up three new tracks on a silver platter. The Holler EP features two slick, original house cuts by Dutch powerhouse Jesse Jacob and a stand-out atmospheric title track remix by Attek. 

No stranger to the top of the Beatport charts, Jacob’s title track delivers a rolling groove with a vibing old-school vocal that breaks it open and feels warm and familiar, calling for hands-up dance floor moments. Attek’s remix of Holler is typically ‘deep’ with a minimal exterior, filled with feel-good grooves that is perfect for both peak-time and after-hour vibes. 

Which One closes out the B side with a vibrant tune that combines big punchy pads and uplifting snares to round up an outstanding EP.

Few labels have established themselves as solidly and definitively as Matthias Tanzmann and André Quaas’ Moon Harbour. Since the turn of the millennium it has been a bastion of deep and tech house quality that has not moved with the times, but has defined them ahead of trend. Through a carefully curated series of EPs and LPs, the label has fomented its own close-knit family that expands and contracts with careful consideration.
